episode just kinda reminded me why I didn't enjoy watching Bakemonogatari. talk of seiyuu, and conversations about some letters to a radio broadcast.. maybe I just don't understand the ingenious complexities of the series, but I yawned through this entire episode.

and the worse part of it is that the oddity focus (for the 10% of the episode that talks about that), is on a neko-mimi blatant fanservice chick...

My thougts too, I think changes might seem superficial, but since it changes the atmosphere, surrondings etc... It might have a very different impact. Add to this the fact that when watching that second edition, you already know the story for each ep, I wonder how each of us will react to that second version.

Tsubasa supposedly saved Araragi's life. I am definitely curious as to what happened, since it is usually the other way around for Araragi (excluding Oshino). Also, did Shinobu escape and go to Master Donut alone? Is that why Oshino is unexpectedly busy? Lots of mysteries that involve Araragi and Shinobu this time. I can't wait for episode 14.I would be wondering if Shinobu...woke up, so to speak. They mentioned she's little more than a fragment of her former self, but that doesn't mean she doesn't regenerate the same way Arararagi-san does. Maybe it just takes her a while longer. Since most of her vampire-ness went...wherever it went (can't say without seeing that arc), her powers and existence are slowly returning. Perhaps she's is coming back as more Shinobu than whatever her name was before.

In fact, two episodes ago, it seemed that Sengoku caught wind of something or another at the crosswalk without even knowing the details of their relationship. She bolted, and I'm not so sure it had anything to do with her being shy. She had no such problems with Kanbaru.

Seeing and hearing about him happily talk about Hitagi makes her get the worst headaches.

This isn't something that Oshino or Araragi can solve that easily. If she confesses, and he rejects her (as he well should with Hitagi), she may go full berserk.

actually thought 13 was a pretty decent episode aside from the annoying cliffhanger. and i absolutely loved the scene with Hachikuji. all her scenes are excellent, and i like that she takes a completely different angle on the whole Senjougahara thing. ryll mentioned it, but i thought she picked up on Tsubasa's crush too. doesnt hurt that i am in love with the comedic musical track they often use in her scenes.

i actually watched a different fansub with 13 (pem) and while it was about the same as gg, i havent been terribly happy with the work either has been putting in on this series. i would be interested in the dvd to see what the official work produces.

the scene with Senjougahara's dad in episode 12 has to be one of the more memorable moments in this series for me. the part where Senjougahara tells him to go back to work and says goodbye to him, with a shot of the car lights simply turning off, was done very well, i thought. i noticed that gg didn't translate the kanji that appeared on the street. i could make out a few characters names, but they just totally skipped all that.

-Got to give it to Tsundere Service announcement. This conversation was, naturally, what I looked forward to the most, to see how their relationship has developed and how it contrasts with all the other "just friends" conversations. Hitagi sounding a bit like an ass at first only the revealed that she's got something else in mind should have been expected, but was unexpected. (make sense much?)

-This episode seemed like the "conversation based" character development episodes we've had for much of the series. I guess it can't be helped since Hanekawa's been around since the start of the series that it's hard to find anything new about her to talk about.

Because of that, I feel that, to date, the Tsubasa Cat arc is probably the weakest.

That aside, the fanservice was wonderful. If I had enough blood to bleed again I would. ~Nyan

Coalgirls finished, finally, the series and released a batch with all of it:

They used subs from various groups, all more or less edited to fit Coalgirls' rather rough style. They used ordered chapters increasing the number of files if decreasing the size appropriately as well. In addition to the eps, the batch contains other stuff related to the show, like commentaries and such.

I was never a fan of Hanekawa, though I won't deny the uber cuteness of the cat version, and so I can't say these last eps would have felt anywhere near as significant as the last Senjougahara episode, which was full of win, in and out. Still, I suppose it needed to be here, considering how significant a character Hanekawa was (even if we haven't actually seen yet why). At least Araragi's unwavering determination to remain faithful made me glad.

It was a fine show all in all. Shaft can be a bad studio but it can be good as well. Not that I'd be discounting the importance of the original novels either.

After watching the final arc:

Like Kraco said, Shaft can really pull off some amazing things when they're trying their best.

In terms of plot i won't praise it too much, we all saw this was coming since the beginning of the show but they still managed to get a couple of interesting twists such as Shinobu's entrance and Araragi getting promoted to the district's spirit detective

So yeah... looking forward to the prequel and the inevitable sequels that are sure to come

Finally finished this one, after I broke down and got the 720p instead of the 1080p since I couldn't run it well enough (even though I can run everything else 1080p). I was quite surprised throughout the entire series, including but not limited to the actual start and progression of a relationship between Araragi and Hitagi (much unlike the majority of other anime that never really bother to expand on such matters), and the fidelity of Araragi even when confronted with very, very tempting offers. However, I have to say, I completely agree that Arararagi is way too dense.

For such an awesome anime, I'm ashamed of myself for not completing it sooner. Though, I wonder... am I a bad person for thinking the small, but ass-kickingly awesome ass-kicking that Shinobou gave toward the end of the last episode is one of the best parts of the series? Next to Hitagi (anything Hitagi), of course.

I have the most updated form of CCCP. I had to reinstall it yesterday after I went through three guides to "optimize your HD viewing" or whatever, just to try to get the 1080p version running smoothly. I do have Coalgirls' version, for both 720p and 1080p. Though they didn't mention anything about being 10-bit.

It's okay though. Like I said, I can play any other 1080p file 95% of the time. I know some of it has to do with my processor speed, but I'm guessing the rest is the amount of decoding done for all the scenes with signs in addition to the subtitles. The 720p ran just fine.

Just finished this, in all it was great but had to be patient with the pace. My only lament was at how awesome the action scenes were, so this series would have been better with more of that throughout the series. But it wasn't what the show was about, so understandable.
