Thanks Bud! haha

Description:
GTO sequel set when the current class is soon to graduate, for some reasons (which I leave to your reading) Onizuka has to go back to Shonan for 14 days.

First chapter available at MangaTraders.
This chapter sets the stage for this new part in the GTO world.
Go and get it, can never have enough GTO!

Ah, I missed Onizuka's stupid antics.

I also notice he still makes all the girls melt (well...certain ones anyway).

Thank Bud indeed.

Right now I'm reading the whole GTO manga, so hopefully I'll be done with it and read this chapter by the end of next week. But man, the scanlators in these volumes I'm reading are fucking horrible.

Well, this was certainly a great start. Im always up to some GTO greatness. I read the original GTO when it was published completely here in Mexico... I just wished they also had published the precuels...

Alright, finished with GTO... glad I decided to read it, I wonder why more hasn't been animated. No real loose ends, only that GTO's love life is never an issue...even after Azusa finally accepts that she's in love with him (but they don't do nothing with it). I like the Urumi pairing myself. Otherwise, it's a complete ending with Onizuka having everyone in school in his pocket by the end of it.

I was hoping for a sequel just so that they could touch on the above issues, but this seems more like a sidestory since it takes place after he was shot by the dude that kidnapped Azusa. Looking forward to it regardless.

The first scene of the manga though seems like it's right after the end of GTO, since it talks about it being 3 months ago, and I think GTO's storyline went only a couple of months after he got shot.

Though Kunio and the other dude look noticeable older in my opinion.

I like the Urumi pairing myself.
The Urumi pairing would be an absolute certainty depending on what Fuyutsuki does. The only thing that prevents Urumi from acting upon her desires is that she's underage. Onizuka wouldn't even consider it (though he is tempted) given she's only 14.

Fuyutsuki has only two years to try and win Onizuka first, or Urumi turns 16 and reaches the Japanese age of consent for girls. There is no doubt in my mind that Urumi will stop at nothing to win him over after that. That's assuming she's still in love with him, and considering what she did to herself over him in the final volume, is a very likely scenario.

But man, what's the deal with everyone on GTO being suicidal? It's like every single problem in the manga was solved with a kid being suicidal being accidentally bumbed by Onizuka, then Onizuka jumping off the building to save him while landing on the Cresta.

I'm not sure if this was done on purpose as a continuing joke or if the mangaka simply didn't have any new ideas on how to deal with problematic kids.

Off-topic question:

1) Is the GTO manga finished yet? This piece of info was found easily enough.
2) Should I bother with the anime?

1) Yes, the GTO: Great Teacher Onizuka is finished as well as the 1 volume prequel Bad Company. The other prequel Shounan Junaigumi! is still being scanlated.

2) Anime is great. It finishes around volume 13 of the manga, and the ending is anime original, but still worth watching.

I'm more of a fan of the manga, and less inclined towards the anime, though it is still very good.

Bud, I haven't seen it for a while, but don't they combine a lot of Anko's storylines into Miyabi's character? Some of her side stories were my favorite parts aside from anything with Urumi, and I think they end up cutting a lot out for time.

It's definitely still worth watching for the good voice acting, but I'd read the manga completely first.

The anime probably was THE anime to me, I mean the one that got the virus inside me, making me an anime junkie. It isn't the best picture quality, music, story, but I did laugh a lot watching it at a time I needed that more than anything else.

Thanks all for that thread, now I know I can start reading around volume 13.

Nevermind, it seems I was thinking of the Live Action (which of what I saw, wasn't too bad either).

Anything GTO is awesome!

Chapter 2 was released and it focuses on finishing day 1, a nice 50 pages.

Onizuka has shown who he is to one of the kids already (who uses the parent in high place card), and shows some punks who the boss in town used to be.

Haha! Bloody fantastic.

What better way than to try and intimidate Onizuka? Get punks? No. Get the cops? No! Those kids are in for a surprise.

LOL... Resident Evil 5 and a PS3... not that it matters... but having that kinda ruins continuity, since I remember Onizuka playing on a PS2 before.

I hope the 2nd teacher is exactly as Onizuka imagined her.

GTO 1-6 (http://www.onemanga.com/GTO_-_Shonan_14_Days/1/)

Up to chapter 6 is out. I can't wait for chapter 7, especially because it is titled Onizuka and Miki's Private Lesson.

Chapters 7 to 16 + Specials (http://www.onemanga.com/GTO_-_Shonan_14_Days/)
Chapter 17 (http://www.onemanga.com/GTO_-_Shonan_14_Days/17/)

Anybody knows where I can read the GTO series from when Onizuka was still a delinquent teen?

Illuminati was doing scans, but they were only up to Volume 9 of the 31 (or 15 if they are doing the bunkobon).

I don't know if they dropped it or not, their site claims it as an active project, despite a lack of releases for some time.
------------------------------

I take it someone is interested in Shinomi? If what she did to him is any indication, she's basically a female Onizuka. She also apparently made a guest appearance or two in the regular GTO, as Toroko's make-up artist (Great Toroko Oppai gaiden chapters, starting in volume 11).

On MangaFox, there seems to be another group doing the entire project, but they're going to take a while setting up because they need a translator:
