This was a follow-up email to a very real looking paypal payment confirmation email. Didn't notice the email spoof until i read this email even though i was 99% skeptical about the transaction, it said $300 + $250 for shipping and handling to send a computer i have for sale to the UK.
This coming just a week after somebody sent me a $3,000 100% stolen check wanting me to cash it, deduct money for a computer and then give their "movers" the change lol (craigslist)

The caps here aren't really that bad. They've always been there, they are just finally admitting that they are using them, which is a better thing. I've been locked down few times, and my ISP isn't even one the ones publically accused of traffic shaping. 250 gigs is a lot today, and they will get a lot of hell from angry customers if they don't scale that when the time comes, but for the average user, they'll never reach it.

At least we don't have any intentions of a nationwide plan for internet censorship in order to "save the children."

This gives us something to think about with all our new electronic
technology.

A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their
car broken into while they were at a football
match. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the
football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things
stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money
and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard.

When the victims got home, they found that their house had been
ransacked and just about everything worth anything had
been stolen.


The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. They then used
the garage remote control to open the garage
door and gain entry to the house. The thieves knew the owners were at
the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to
finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean up the house. It
would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of
its contents.

MOBILE PHONE

I never thought of this.......
This lady has now changed her habit of how she
lists her names on her mobile phone after her handbag was stolen. Her
handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, wallet...
Etc... Was stolen.

20 minutes later when she called her hubby, from a
pay phone telling him what had happened, hubby says 'I received your
text
Asking about our Pin number and I've replied a
little while ago.'

When they rushed down to the bank, the bank staff
told them all the money was already withdrawn. The thief had
actually used the stolen cell phone to text 'hubby' in the contact
list and got hold of the pin number. Within 20 minutes he had
withdrawn all the money from their bank account.

Moral of the lesson:
Do not disclose the relationship between you and
the people in your contact list. Avoid using names like Home, Honey,
Hubby,
Sweetheart, Dad, Mom, etc.... And very
importantly, when sensitive info is being asked through texts,
CONFIRM by calling back. Also, when you're being text by friends or
family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that
the message came from them. If you don't reach them, be very careful
about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.


Honestly, that mobile thing should be common sense. Texting your PIN that is, but the GPS one was interesting. Sucks to be the houseowner too.

GPS-garage remote combination was a nasty oversight. However, it wouldn't have mattered either if the people had had a burglar alarm system. Maybe they will install one with their insurance money... (Not that they would have anything to protect anymore, though, haha.)

A Danish advocacy group (http://familievold.dk/english) has made the controversial flash game Hit the Bitch. In this supposed Public Service Announcement, a Danish model talks smack to you while you use your mouse or webcam to hit her in the face. a scale rates you hits from pussy to gangsta. Once you hit the bitch enough the scale reaches 100% gangsta, and the model hits the floor crying. Then the game calls you an idiot and makes you feel bad for beating a woman.

Due to overwhelming popularity (or maybe good, old-fashioned censorship), if an American tries to play this game, they get this message:

Dear non-danish visitor,
Due to an extremely high amount of traffic "Hit the Bitch" has been limited to only allow users from Denmark.
However, domestic violence is a global problem, so please support the fight against it in your local country.

Personally, I'm a little disappointed that I couldn't back-hand her.

Not sure who this PSA is trying to reach. I'm no sociologist, but I'd think this kind of behavior isn't something a few minutes of walloping a virtual Danish girl can undo. If anything it's just given me an outlet for when I've had a bad day.

I did feel kinda bad when it showed her crying at the end, but I'm easily emotionally manipulated.

It's funny because of how overblown the right has made these issues. There's nothing wrong with dissent in a democracy, but the fear-mongering and general misunderstanding of issues is what makes it so ridiculous.

Pause at 1:21 "UNITED STATES OF SOCIALIST AMERICA". That is the level of discourse that goes down at these "tea parties".

Obama is a socialist, he's taking away our freedom, he's racist against white people, he's giving illegal immigrants the same rights as citizens, etc etc. It's just funny to see how seriously these people are taking their own complaints.

Every time I hear about the earthquake in Haiti, I can't help but think about that scene from Airplane II where they show Detroit before and after a terrorist attack. It's the same shithole.

This earthquake could be the best thing to happen to Haiti. They get a huge infusion of money and aid. Hopefully they don't use it to just patch holes and for temporary relief. Use that money to rebuild from the ground up and fix your shit.

I then compare them to my own features to see where I stand in the looks department, and in relation to my success with women.
