yah, hehe it's mindless fun. I've got time to fight 3 fights a day... will be humerous to see what the tournaments are like, and apparently you can choose the attacks and stuff they use later on in lvls. It's just some silly fun, but worth it if you're bored. =)

edit: well I figured out there is no way to level up yourself by creating characters because of IP address etc, but I created a pretty mean little girl... beat her if you can...

Pretty much. I really don't know why I enjoy these games, but whenever I start them I always spend a few minutes of my day finishing up whatever time or turns I got, at least for a few weeks anyways.

However I think my character sucks, he keeps getting his ass kicked, he needs a weapon... or one of those dogs. Oh well, maybe he'll get one for level 3.

haha, I love this little app... it's fun watching all the tournament fights and seeing the little guys beat the crap outta people. It seems the only way to get really powerful quickly is to have a lot of different people be a pupil to your guys. You can make as many guys as you want, however you can't keep making pupils for your own guys and get points for it.

I've been creating pupils off of some of my other friends characters to see if we can get some powerful brutes.

My guy was pretty annoying to use at level 1&2. She had agility, so she knocked the weapons out of those who had them, and she had tonnes of health too (@lvl 2, she had 114 I think).

Her high health and disarming ability gave her a handicap against stronger opponents, but sometimes it just wasn't enough.

Then she got up to level 3, and starts whipping out an axe to do 20 Damage :D

I can't think of a decent reason why I'd go DOWN in health after going up to level 4. If it stayed the same, yeah, what'ever, but I dropped from 116 to 96. Just what is this levelling up? (I got a pet now though. Perhaps it took a chunk of my health with it?)

well pets are awesome. I think you might lose some health if you get pets because they are so good... just having a pet allows you to attack more then double the amount of times(including your pet). the dog doesn't hit hard, but if you get a wolf, or a bear, your in the money!!!

As for Anotherattempt and his hammer, yes he hits like a truck. I've 1 shot'd like 4 people now with him with I think my highest hit being 99. His problem comes when he decides he's too manly and just punches people, or gets knifed like 5 times in a row, hehe.

I'd say the best 3 weapons are probably the Hammer, the Flail, and the whip. The whip is fast and very defensive while still hitting for like 12-15 with lower strength.

I'm entering all the guys into the Apr. 15th tournament. Hopefully everyone can get another lvl by then.

Gotwoot is actually pretty good, and I want to see him do well. He kicks some butt with his Flail, but he doesn't have that many hitpoints, so he can't take a huge beating off the bat. Hopefully we can get him some more support and pupils from here to represent our community.

I don't really see any of our guys making it way into any of the tournaments until they get to around lvl 10 or so though. My highest guy atm is Vihgo, whose about to hit lvl 6. Both Anotherattempt and Gotwoot are lvl 5 though.

It's sure been a fun little game to pass the time with though, thats for sure.

As an update, you guys might want to be careful. As of this morning it appears My Brute got hacked or infected, and is now sending out a Virus when people visit... Symantec is reporting it as Downloader.Swif.C . It's an IE5 cookie of some sorts which capitalizes on a Flash Player vulnerability. I can't see any of my guys stats, or see fights. It's spread throughout the whole site. Just be careful gang.

On a different note, I signed up Gotwoot, and all my other characters for the April 16th tournament! Let's just hope they get the site fixed before then. I want to see my brutes beat the crap outta everyone else!!! =)

lol, yeah, I was thinking about mentioning that she one shots people as well above, but she doesn't do it as often as Anotherattempt who hits people for ~100. I'm still trying to figure out whether or not her speed is greater then Anotherattempt's power. As you guys can see though, they actually have to land the hit to do the damage... they get dodged semi-regularly...

The best was yesterday a lvl 6 guy with a speed of 12 challenged Anotherattempt thinking he'd kill me with the speed difference. He stabbed me like 6 times in a row, AA pulled out his hammer and WHAM! one shot biatch! (although he only hit him for 94 that hit)

Well out of everyone that I entered into the tournament yesterday, only Vihgo and Gotwoot performed ok... Gotwoot actually did the best making it to the 9h round getting the farthest of any of my brutes ever in a tourny. He then lost to a girl with a bear and a flail... was so unfair... she even freaking attacked first... *sigh* After that she lost to a lvl 2 guy in the next round who had a panther. Not sure what a panther is, but I can't check on the computers at work due to Symantec going crazy with the Downloader.Swif.C thing...

I'm wondering how long it will take one of us to get lucky and perform well enough to become ranked. I definately think Gotwoot has the potential. That flail of his kicks butt not to mention his Agi, and Speed...

Once I can get Gotwoot up to lvl 10, I'm going to start a Clan for all our guys. We'll be able to find and fight eachother easier that way. I have no idea how long it will take to get lvl 10 though =/ wound need like 20 more valid pupils to earn lvl 3 or some time...

lol 176! If only my brute had the Fierce Brute ability. My highest hit with the hammer so far is 107. I think my guys that were so good to begin with are now sucking... I haven't gotten lucky with getting something good for lvl ups in a while. =/

On a bright note, my friend got lucky and his third character created had a bear... He got all cocky and told me to fight him with my best person... who didn't have any fights left, so I fought him with Blahblahhah, and here was the outcome... it made me laugh

They're a bit lame early, but later on against higher levels for some reason, they only throw it 3 times at most consecutively. Whips are a more damaging version of the ninja stars.

yah, throwing stars are fun. I just made another round of characters and started up 2 w/ throwingstars. I want to see which is better... the stars, or the pigs. Blahblahhah got the pigs, and she throws them just like stars... it's kinda funny. There are a couple of defenses for the throwing stars though. The higher your speed the less they'll be able to throw at you, and there is one speacialty that you can learn which ups your dodge of thrown weapons.

My best new creation nabbed a panther, and has master of arms with a knife. He's too low lvl to know if he's going to end up super powerful yet though... for now he's kicking butt. I managed to get the panther at lvl 2.

I lost just one battle with that guy - my pet was ensnared and enemy kept pounding me with his stick. Hatchet is not so fast - but most battles go like this: i hit, my pet hits 4 times, i hit, my pet hits 3 times, enemy hits my pet, i hit, my pet finishes him off.
I even beaten my other char who has bear.

I entered ggolly(has panther) into the last tournament for the first time. He was lvl 6, and what do you know, the guy I meet in the 1st round happens to also be a lvl 6 guy with a panther... His panther killed mine right off the bat even though I have a higher speed... *shakes fist at random roll* He ended up beating me because his panther got one round of attacks into me, and having the low HPs. Oh well, we'll see how he does next time. I've got high hopes...

On a different note, I figured out where you begin being ranked in the different tiers. Ranking only goes up to 10,000. I know this, because I finally have a ranked character! Yay! Anotherattempt(my highest lvl'd character experience wise) made it in today at rank 9340 in the Padawan(beginning) tier, and he was about a fifth of the way through lvl 8. I just checked when typing this, and hes now 8090th at about halfway through lvl 8. I've got 2 characters right at about a quarter of the way into lvl 8 and they both aren't ranked...

So that means the ranking cuttoff is currently between lvl 8.25 and 8.5, and roughly 2000 little warriors make up that range... thats a lot of brutes!!! lol

It's all based off of IP's Archangel. Once a character has been created from an IP address, the address is stored and any new characters created from that IP address won't be able to give experience as a pupil when it lvls up. These guys lvl 30+ have just found the best places to place their links where tons of people have seen it and clicked the link to find out about the game. Hense they have thousands and thousands of pupils...

As for any connection issues, I think they are due to the fact that millions are probably playing this game... it gets bad at certain times of the day... like right after the servers reset at 3pm pst, or just after their technical maintenence ends(9pm-10pm pst) which is when the tournaments start, and you can enroll in the next day's tournament.

As best I can figure out, what you get when your characters lvl up is completely random. You get raw stats(endurance,str,agi,speed), and then a chance at a bonus which is either a weapon, or an ability. You can fight characters up to 2 lvls below you and still receive 2 experience points for wins. I have not tested fighting someone 3 lvls higher then me yet to see if you can get more then 2exp per win.

What I've been doing to lvl up my characters quickly is to find weak characters at different lvl ranges to fight against... thus ensuring more victories, more +2exp etc. Here is a list of some easy people to fight at different lvls including some of my crappy characters... hehe

lvl 2(for those up to lvl 4): old, Puw29
lvl 4(for those up to lvl 6): justagoon, lexiii, saywhatson

lvl 8(for those up to lvl 10): lex, swaggerbunny
lvl 9(for those up to lvl 11): vihgo

I'm working hard to get Gotwoot lvl 10, so I can start us a clan. Then we can get everyone organized and challenge eachother easier if we want.

Ok, I editted the origional post and listed everyone's brutes there for easy reference and such. Post the names of the others you'd like me to toss onto the list... It seems the hot spot for brutes right now is lvl 6-7.

I was just thinking about this, but do we want to hold a Gotwoot community specific brute tournament? Give everyone like a month and hold our own single elimination tournament for those that want to participate? Limit everyone to entering only your top 2 or 3 brutes or something like that?

grrrr, my brutes keep sucking in the tournaments, none of my brutes made it past the 3rd round last night. They keep getting taken out by brutes lvl 4-7 with nothing all that special... *shrug*

I don't understand how this pupil thing works. I've created a ton of pupils, some of them from different IPs, and I still can't get them to give me experience. Only two are currently giving me some, the first pupil I created, and someone else's which I assume is from someone here.

it's all based off of IP addresses... if an IP address has been used to create a brute before, any new brutes created from that IP address won't give experience to anyone no matter who's pupil they are... It's to keep people from creating a bajillion pupils for themselves to super lvl up their own brutes... So it basically forces people to recruit new people to the game if they want to get stronger via pupils...

I know it's IP based, but I guess I have some shitty luck if I've used about 5 different IPs for all of them to have brutes created before.

yah, I know there have been a bunch of people who have tried proxy programs to create a bunch of pupils and such...there is no telling how many IPs have been used up in the process... All my pupils came from the ASP servers I manage here at work, or getting lucky with someone clicking the links that I've placed and signed up... All in all none of my characters have managed over like ~20 legit pupils.

Then you just have to hope that those that signed up as a pupil to your brute actually play and lvl up their toons to give you exp.

I saved a number of my IP's for when I got lucky with a potentially great character, so when I scored a panther on Ggolly, I jumped at the occation, and used up every last remaining IP I knew of to create pupils with. I created 18, all of which are under my control. It's lvl'd him up quite fast comparitively, but even with all of these he's still only just caught up to my first round of main brutes, and yet he isn't really any stronger then them when a lvl 4 with a net, bolt of lightening, and a knife is able to beat me. =( On top of that, it takes way too much time having to fight with ~30 pupils a day, and I've gotten pretty fast at it with repetition.

Well in poland there is popular(shitty) net provider -Neostrada(from TPSA)... each time you turn off your modem it gives you new ip - so guess what were my friends doing with this...
(I still prefer my provider and whole LAN)

oye, that sounds crazy... if they give out different public IP's each time you reset your router... well I'm sure I'd already have a lvl 20+ guy, but man that would be a pita...

besides, I think it will be more fun just fighting eachother's brutes where they are closer to the same lvl... If we hold a tournament here for just our brutes, then I don't think we should wait a long long time to do it... that way things would stay competetive, and I'm sure our attention span when it comes to My Brute will only be for so long...

Speaking of which, if you guys would want to hold a Gotwoot Brute tournament, how as in what format would you want it to be? If there is interest, I'm willing to put in some effort to organize it...

Well i made several characters and it seems one of them turned out pretty OP.

She has Impact that disarms almost on every hit, she has Sabotage which removes an unequipped weapon on every hit and she has Armor which makes her take alot reduced damage. Since she can basically make a brute with 4 weapons become weaponless in 2 rounds she wins 95% of the fights.

BTW. I just found this website. It desribes all the different bonuses and weapons in the game. I'm not sure how accurate this information it, but it's something to check out at least.

It would however be a great format for like regular season if you will... Maybe we should set up a list of matches for everyone who wants to participate, and then we can use the regular season win/loss results to seed the brutes for the tournament?

For entertainment value though, I think it'd be more fun to have an elimination style tournament, where each round is a best out of 3(or first to 2 victories) because each brute can fight eachother once/day = 2 fights. If they split the fights the first day, they have the sudden death match first the next day, and still have fights left to take on their next opponent.

A regular season and tournament might be too involved for folks though? Anyone have any thoughts on this, or other ideas?

I'm leveling up my brute quite a bit at the moment with some trick of deleting some data the game puts in the pc, and renewing my IP. Want to get my brute to level 10 this way, but it's such a hassle.

Anyways, I think I got a few decent pupils out of it, some which I might not want to level up if anyone might be interested in them. I think I might give up one that has a dog.

Ok as a fun little project i decided i would kick your brute's asses. And i did.

Xexy just received the title Desert Batterer and is now ranked 8810. Don't really know what that means. It says "To enter this ranking you must reach minimum 1024th finals during a tournament.".

yup, the higher tiers directly correlate to how far you make it in the tournament... the 11h round is the first round that awards the titles/tiers each round farther then that will bring you into a different tier. As for the ranking in that tier, it's all based off of how much experience you have gained with your character's lvl aka experience gained...

Basically AA and Xexy have made it to the round of 2048 participants...

Oh, and has anyone actually figured out what Strong Arm does? On some sites it says it's suppose to up the damage similar to Master of Arms, but I couldn't see really any increased damage per hit. I'm guessing instead of damage, it takes the heavy weapons and turns them into normal weapons getting rid of some of the speed decrease, and allowing a higher chance to counterattack... Any thoughts?

They take the servers down for maintinence on the databases each day at the same time which for me is 7:05pm(I'm US Pacific Time). This is also the time when they start running the matches for the tournaments. Generally the site is down for roughly 2 hours I'd say. I've seen it down for longer, but I'm pretty sure thats been in conjunction with server upgrades, or rolling out updated code. They may also do a big database defrag and purge a lot of the crap brutes that aren't played anymore every so often. The site has been up for me everyday I've checked to play though.

Oh, and gratz on impact Goz. Now he's a contender...
