Another manga release done by Snoopycool (http://www.snoopycool.com/manga/lucifer/index.html).

The plot so far:
A guy, Amamiya Yuuhi, wakes up, and there's a Lizard in his room telling him he's one of the twelve knights who have been granted the power and responsibility to protect the earth (and the princess) from destruction. Guy throws lizard out the window.
story is pretty typical, but it's the characters who make the difference, rather than being Heroic, Yuuhi is quite a disturbed person, and he isn't so big about saving the earth. luckily for him, the princess (Asahina Samidare) also isn't the normal frail-princess type we usually see in the story.

so far, the story is up to chapter 23 (at snoopy's, if there's a speed group, I'd like to hear about it). and it's only starting to get intense. it's good stuff, the general feel is between Konjiki no gash bell and Parasite.

I've been eyeing this manga for a while... I'll give it a try then later on this week.

Definitely do so. I am enamoured by this manga, especially by how it gives critique to the usual shounen drivel by simply twisting the shounen formulae by the most miniscule amount.

24 out. same place as the rest.

old dude probably will play a part in this, maybe he used to fight in the last battle, though it's weird if there are two battle for the earth in one person lifespan.

Finally decided to read this, 24 chapters, but they're long ones so it took me a bit of time.

Anyways, quite enjoying it. Liked that they killed a character off, though I'm not sure about how I feel on Yuuhi's powerup.

Considering that in Yuuhi's dream he goes to the Biscuit Hammer with Samidare, that should play an important part in the events. Is he really talking to Samidare or is he talking to the actual princess Anima?

Hopefully there'll be a release soon, as they've been releasing about 2-3 chapters a month and we haven't gotten a release in a month.

And yeah, it has a bit of Parasite feeling to it.

the translation is a bit fuzzy at times, but I understand the jist.

nice backstory, though having an esper around seems weird, the chief was a fairly decent guy, and they also involved the brothers...

I wonder if the esper's sister (who studies at the same school) will appear in the story, probably.

DBZ or anyone, have any of you tried Sengoku Youko or maybe Psycho Staff? They're from the same mangaka, Mizukami Satoshi and both seem to be well liked from what I've seen... so curious if any of you have an opinion on either of them.

Psycho Staff is very similar in style to this manga. I think that Hoshi no Samidare is a more developed work though. Haven't tried Sengoku Youko yet.

Just caught up... cool chapters overall learning more about each new character, though I kinda wish they would've been spread out a bit more since it feels like the story has been a bit stuck while we make these introductions.

Really enjoyed chapter 27 with Animus trying to recruit people.

You should check out Sengoku Youko by the same mangaka, it's pretty good.

Here's 29, uploaded it to sendspace:

Looks like all the setup and introductions are out of the way after this chapter, looking forward to next arc since it seems the Magician will start making his move.

I really like it how he recited all of his students at the end, he's such a great guy...
but what the hell happened to Ocata and Noxa?
maybe the magician let the owl Knight to fight them for some combat experience...

and isn't this the first time a golem has shown combat expertise? the previous ones didn't have any special abilities (other than jumping, I guess)

<@Arkangel> Lucifer and the Biscuit hammer
<@Arkangel> Epicness
<@Arkangel> Epic epicness
<@Arkangel> Epical epic epicness

I came bricks made out of awesome. It's probably one of the best written battle shounens i've ever read, and it didn't feel pretentious at all. The circumstances were relatable, it didn't try to make itself more than what it actually was and the way it balanced its serious and more lighthearted aspects was brilliant. Great use of Chekhov's gun as well.

My only complain would be the art, makes me feel the author might be more suited for Light Novels ( though i'm very glad he didn't go down that road, this would have never been translated ).

Lastly i echo DBZ's feelings, this need an anime adaptation. By Gainax.

I actually like the art. It is unique, like how he approaches shounen.

Read his other works, like Psycho Staff and Sengoku Youko.
