I'm calling it here.

The great bear, Sergei, dies next episode.

Heavy level of character development this episode (I thought his wife was a guy at first until I saw the dress) for both Sergei's past as well as Andrei's. It looks like we'll see some more development next time (I assumed that was a young Andrei, angry about his mother's death), resulting in a noble sacrifice that spurs Soma into action once more.

Before he goes though, Sergei is going to take his obsolete Tieren Taozi and beat the everloving shit out of some A-LAWS mobile suits.

EDIT: If by some miracle they allow him to live, maybe he'll defect to Katharon, finally bringing the gross incompetence their military forces have displayed so far to some level of functional use besides orbital canon fodder.

You can so see the orbital elevator coming down when A-LAWS didn't attack when Hercules predicted, but I didn't expect a second Memento Mori. I have to give A-LAWS credit for for beating Hercules to this information war, but perhaps that credit best goes to Veda.

The great bear, Sergei, dies next episode.

We are in agreement. I'm not sure if it'll be trying to save Soma, or if she only deploys after Sergei bites the dust, but his death will be her reason to fight. Sad as it is that Sergei will be sacrificed for it, I like this reason to drag Soma to the battlefield again better than the cheezy "I want to save another person from fighting for the wrong reason" excuse (evident last time when they noticed her old Custom suit, and Sagi called Louis' name).

How Stuff Works: Trans-Am part 2 - well unfortunately, there's no visual confirmation of whether those suits were running on capped performance after Trans-Am. From the way they shut it off right when a battle ends, I do think it's implied you can turn it off before the limit is up, leaving you particles to spare without impacting performance afterwards.

felt like there was a whole lot of 'oh shit, dude out of nowhere's suddenly important better give you some backstory'. Would it have been so hard to have had Hercules appear at least a little bit earlier in the show?

The Photoshopping of the automatons made it clear: A-LAWS was never going to let ANYONE get out of that place alive. Hercules should have figured that out sooner...

Only we the viewers know it (or does Tieria too?) but the entire goal for the Innovators is to make mankind migrate into space and 'evolve'. Hercules would never figure something like this out, so the Orbital Elevator would seem too important to destroy for him, but CB should have figured this all out before the end of the episode...

Serves You Right, You Dumb Bitch moment of the episode: Kati railing in anger about not being deployed to the Orbital Elevator. Dumb Bitch should have finished off CB last episode...

I still think Sergei makes it out for a little longer. He's got to die protecting either Soma or his son (or Louise on behalf of his son). Hercules will be the "tragic" death next episode.

Also, I am so smelling a Three Ship Alliance 'final battle' setup for this show. Seriously, it's getting to a point where only absolute psychos like Ali and boredom-induced-crazies like Wang Liu Mei can agree with A-LAWS. The bad guys in this show make the Emperor from Star Wars seem like a nice guy.

Is it just me, or does that look like a shot of the Memento Mori being blown up, AGAIN, in the next episode preview?

edit - can't believe i forgot to say... the Setsuna vs. Graham fight totally sucked! Fucking waste of time. The Gundams have GOT to stop using the Trans-am shit right at the start of battles. Christ.

Well I came across a interesting video on youtube:

I dont know guys, what do you think? Is this just speculation? because sunrise has a bad track record at spoiling stuff in their opening themes. Iv also always thought that Marina was more of a "Onee-san" to Setsuna then anything, but then again there has been little interaction between him and Feldt from both seasons. And also theres the age difference, I know age probably doesnt matter THAT much in this series, but it CAN be a factor and it seems to me that Feldt is the only one within a reasonable age range near Setsuna. I know many of you dont care for the love side of gundam, but I just couldnt help but posting this, it might be nothing at all, anyway discuss....

I see where you're coming from, but I wouldn't put my money on it.

1) It looked like the second OP from Season 1 was giving away a lot of the plot. It didn't.
2) They've built up the Marina/Setsuna relationship all the way up till now, with ZERO FeltXSetsuna scenes. Unless they seek to mimic Code Geass at where it failed, I don't see them pulling that out of nowhere.

Random speculation: Since all these second generation Gundams (or whatever gen they're up to) are based on their trashed ones from S1, I'm betting that without Veda, Seraphim's powers would be something like a Fake-GN-Particle Cancellor.
