gotwoot irc isn't a place to chat. its just a place to hang out. back in the day when the forums were more live, alot of the members and like all the mods used to hang out there

Wow. I didn't expect to see another of DO's legendary Join the irc messages anymore. I will be out of town for a few more days and chances are slim I'd be back to irc any sooner, but when the year changes, I'll be haunting those deserted halls once again.

Got firefox? There's a chatzilla addon, which is an IRC client. I've used it for all my IRC needs till now. It's not as flashy and feature-filled as mIRC, it more or less provides a window for you to type in.

Only reason I'm trying out mIRC now is that Thora recommends it for their IRC bot so I won't corrupt large (4+GB files) downloads. I haven't had any failed files (regular 170MB) using Chatzilla, but I have using Mozilla firefox (usually larger 1GB+ ones), and I'm assuming the downloader is based off that.

I'll ignore the fact that by "hang out" you probably mean "talk to/chat/dick around with other members" and just leave it at my first response.

But in the spirit of keeping the channel active, I'll say to new members: Go ahead and join. Why haven't you joined yet? What the heck?

Me and Yuki are always on there discussing the latest Urban Fantasy novel or spoilerz; DS usually talks with Arc and others about the latest anime or games, and there's sometimes random explosions of philosophical discussion when Y comes in. AE and KitKat are awesome too, and DO just terrorizes everyone. :(
