There's a pretty large plothole here in the way Kifune acted got him somehow ostracized in the 13 squads, and yet, the 13 squads are full of people just like him.

Hell, he'd have fit in perfectly in Mayuri's squad.

Agreed. Mayuri blew up 20+ of his own squad when chasing Ichigo (if my memory serves me right).

Yeah, compared to a captain who puts bombs in his own squad, a guy who occasionally cuts through a teammate to kill a hollow doesn't seem so bad.

They should have presented him as a psycho who cuts down anyone weaker just for fun. Then it would have made a little more sense. Right now the squads are certainly bulging with "get out of my way or get cut" people.
