I hadn't actually watched any Ikkitousen until very recently, but when I finally patched this gaping hole in my anime education, I was happy enough with it, with only a few misgivings. But the copious amounts of fanservice certainly mended a lot. And based on this promo, there's no fear of the ecchi level going anywhere but up. Jolly good.

Can't say I'm not excited about this. From what I've read they are going to break from the Romance of the Three Kingdoms angle completely, and possibly even the manga. Hopefully the producers have realized that the meat of this franchise is hot chicks in school uniforms fighting in a manner that destroys said uniforms one attack at a time.

Ikkitousen is utter crap besides the copious amounts of ecchi.

Why would you waste time judging this series on any merit besides ecchiness?

Yeah. Seriously. I don't think it even tried to be anything but an ecchi fest. And nobody can claim it didn't succeed in that.

Your comments only support my point. An ecchi fest is like half-assed hentai, and there are hentai with better art than Ikkitousen.

Feel free to PM me with examples, if it's not possible to mention those titles in these fora. Thanks a lot

It's Ikkitousen, who cares what the plot is, there are girls, there are fights, there are mysterious powers, there are awkward shoujo-ai moments, there are panty shots.

P.S. Apparently Ryoufu really is coming back she's in the ED and everything.

Let's add this to the list:

Episode 1 - Nightshade-yesy (http://www.nyaatorrents.org/?page=download&tid=22343)

Edit: This seems to be a fullscreen aspect ratio release. I don't know what manner of a TV station still airs such, but it doesn't make me happy.

Edit2: I guess this show only airs in fullscreen.

Excellent. This brings a smile to my otherwise crappy day.

The first episode was a bit confusing. No doubt introducing the new girl was the whole point of the ep, so everything else that happened was probably only air. And quite airy it was. Still, even if this show is not about a plot, I couldn't help but feel the repeated wake dreaming sequences by Kanu were kind of distracting. But that's just my personal opinion. I hope whatever background story this end up having progresses fast so that we get to serious fights (though I won't complain about the dark opening fight).

Is the first(?) season needed to watch it without loosing interest? or more like "does this anime have a story?" xD

I don't know if the first and second seasons are actually needed to understand boobs n' fights, but they established great many of the characters and their relationships, as well as revealed something about why these people keep fighting as they do. Thinking about it the other way around, since the only reason to watch this is to stare at chicks with big boobs beating each other, it makes no sense not to watch the 1st and 2nd seasons if it interests you; it's the same stuff after all.

Watching the first season is important to establish the Ryoufo, green haired girl, is supposed to be dead. And also that she's a sadistic lesbian rapist who is stronger than pretty much everyone in the show.

Edit: This has turned into an ecchi romance/drama now?

I've really not been feeling the same vibes from this show that I felt from the First season, or even the second. The level of seriousness has taken a pretty steep dive and while I always came for the absurd fanservice and crazy chick fights, the way the characters all took themselves so seriously (excluding Hakufu of course) actually helped hold everything together for me. This season everything is just so disjointed I find it hard to care about what's going on.

Can't we have a bit of action for a change?

Edit: A bit more interesting episode, even if the core of the episode was formed by a somewhat external factor. But at least it was funny enough. But still really interesting and long enough fights are sadly missing.
