Hey, I can't let this thread have no replies. I guess Holic is one of those underrated/underwatched anime that are unusual yet all the more entertaining. I've loved the anime since the first season because I really like that kind of mysterious atmosphere that doesn't always take itself too seriously. And Mokona is just adorable. Season 2 is definitely promising.

I've bought most of the manga, so I try to stay out of the discussion for it. I always liked xxxHolic better than Tsubasa. It feels like it's own series, instead of just one nostalgic reference after another.

I do have one glaring problem with the anime adaptations. The seasons in xxxHolic are always wrong. Yuuko is big on certain events as an excuse to drink and they always happen at the wrong time.

Like the dream buying sequence. That has significance as the characters mentioned in the episode that the dream would be super lucky if they were the first dream of the year. In the manga...they were. Instead, Wakanuki has a dream about eggplants in the middle of spring. There have been many other issues with that earlier this season and last season. Everything is shifted forward a few months.

But other than that, I do love the series. No one else could possibly play Yuuko but Sayaka Ohara (Milly in Geass, Alicia in ARIA, Layla from Kaleido Star, etc). The role seems like CLAMP wrote it for her.
