My first impression of the series was that it immediately reminded me of Aria. When I checked the AniDB page, it turned out to be a correct hunch as the producer is the same. Not to mention a certain detail later in the episode left little room for advanced deductions in that respect... Still, the series has the same unhurried feeling, concentrating just on enjoying life, finding unexpected things in the usual surroundings, somewhat peculiar or lax people.

I'll probably try to keep watching this. If I remember.

I finally decided to watch this. I also confirm the similar atmospheric feel to ARIA, but it's a completely different one. There are a lot more characters, so it somewhat detracts from the laid back feel (at least for me). It's also more of the 4-koma vein, instead of focusing on largely a single aspect.

At the same time, I'm really drawn (heh) towards the art in the series. The backgrounds catch my eye so well, that I have trouble focusing on the subs. It's almost straight out of a watercolor. In the classrooms and cities, it's less of a problem.

This is quite a relaxing series. I've been very busy for the past few days with schoolwork, so watching this while having my coffee is so.... well, relaxing. For entertainment purposes, this show wouldn't work for me, but it's excellent for the end-of-the-day time.

It's the end of the day time again (at least for the cats if not otherwise):

Episode 3 - SpoonSubs (http://a.scarywater.net/spoonsubs/%5BSpoonSubs%5D_Sketchbook_full_colors_03_%5BFFE2F 973%5D.mkv.torrent)

Edit: The main character girl (Sora) is a real my pace character. I suppose it was evident enough in the earlier episodes already but surely underlined in this one. Amazingly spaced-out. It was nice to see her brother, though. Of course he might have been there just as a plot device to illustrate better Sora's mentality but nevertheless the first scene of playing the game had a funny conclusion.

This is a nice series despite the sheer lack of activity in this thread:

Edit: Kuma-san the big cat had an awesome voice actor: Jouji Nakata (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/people.php?id=1030), the man who voiced for example Alucard, Kotomine (FSN), Bandou (Elfen Lied), and naturally he appeared also in Lucky Star in some weird role... I was pretty surprised to say the least when the cat spoke for the first time. Jolly good.

Hehe, sorry that you've been the only one posting on this thread, Kraco.

Watched a whole bunch of Sketchbook episodes today and I am really impressed. I was afraid that this was going to be an Aria copy, which I didn't really enjoy all that much, but there is something in this series that keeps me really attached (perhaps it's because I can somewhat relate to this?).
Ep9 was definitely something everyone can relate to, haha. I usually found myself (and still am) trying to figure out how to study efficiently while not losing focus.

This series only shares the general calmness with Aria, and studying the surroundings, but I don't think much else. Maybe the colouring as well, but that's pretty much it. The characters are quite different indeed as are the plots. Hmm... Well, there are cats as well in this one.

I like Aria a lot as well so I can't really say I'd like this because it's significantly different, but I suppose it is more different than I was thinking in the beginning.

And I was always like that club president in my studying methods. Always. Although I also used to, with suitable subjects, write the kind of notes that you could have used as cheat lists, like that one dude. I never used them in that fashion but writing them helped memorization a lot for some reason.

You should have a look at our General Support forum (http://forums.gotwoot.net/forumdisplay.php?f=37) for general torrenting related hints and problem solutions. If this is the only torrent you have encountered such problems with, then either something has recently changed with your system or ISP or you are maybe just experiencing temporary connection problems.

Kraco :) Thx for the linkage, I've watched a few episodes of this & so far it seems to be a quiet lazy slice of life anime. Good to watch when you've got spare time to kill.

This has to be one of my favourites so far. I love the calmness of the anime, sort of reminds me of Azumanga Daioh. Also, the cats rock! :)

Thanks Kraco, for making this thread or I'll definitely be at loss.

Edit: This series certainly ended the way it ran all the way through: calmly. Since there really wasn't much of a plot in general it's hard to imagine any manner of a conclusion as such but in a way this managed to do that. The different personalities were surely one of the main points of the show and how they one by one had most of them walk in and out was a good way to end it all. Plus I think Sora managed to develop a little during these 13 episodes, as an added bonus.

A fine series, all in all. Now that this is over I'm looking even more forward to Aria 3 eps. If only CrystalNova would deign to release them...

Thanks Kraco for this very peaceful and soothing show.
I wasn't able to catch up with it when you patiently updated this thread due to too many shows to finish + little free time everyday/week...

I just finished it.
I must say it was nice, nothing really good or bad, just a nice flow of things.
Anyone seeking peacefulness, a bit of comfort, or to release stress after hard working days should try it.
I wasn"t able to watch more than 2 eps in a row due to that high soothing factor that led me to bed every night I watched it. It's actualy a praise for this show because I'm such a bad sleeper...

I liked the tea ceremonial: cup of tea, aaaahhh, and nice pink aura of happiness.
I liked the cat arcs, entertaining, funny, light, different, maybe a bit childish but everyone needs a bit of that too.
