Anime about the very popular Xbox 360 game, Blue Dragon.
Airs tomorrow ( april 7th ), 51 eps in total.

Plot from the game:
"Each year for the past ten years, purple clouds would appear, and bring disasters to people around the world.

When their village is attacked again Shu, Kluke, and Jiro fight back against the fin that appears to kill the people. However, they discover it is a strange machine. But even after damaging it, it takes them back to the flagship, with the three still on it.

There, they encounter constant attacks from metal soldiers until they discover three orbs of light. After hearing a voice tell them to swallow the orbs, they do and discover their shadows grow into monsters; Kluke's becomes a blue phoenix, Jiro's a blue minotaur, and Shu's a blue dragon. They then fight the ship's captain, Nene, and discover that Nene is behind the yearly attacks on their town. He easilly defeats them, and they can barely make it to an escape capsule. They then land far from home and must then journey to find a way to save their land.

Following their escape from Nene's air fortress, they encounter more people from towns that have also fallen victim to the purple clouds, and decide that they must try to stop Nene from continuing to bring ruin on their world."

Been wanting to play the game, and since I don't have an Xbox 360, and I'm not sure if I'd ever get one, this'll be a good substitute. Though the game would've provided interaction and what not. That silver-haired pirate chick is voiced by the same seiyuu as Edward Elric from FMA and another anime as a male character as well that I just can't recall for the life of me. Not used to hearing her voice on a female character.

I actually really like it =/. I was a huge DBZ fan when I watched the DBZ-chinese dub when I was a kid.

Just got back from class and watched Ep 2. More of a set up episode (as would be expected of any second episode...) Seems like there will be some action and some more shadow stuff in the next episode. The fight scene with the robots though was awesome, as was the reaction of the tech girl (Kluke?) and the pirate looking chick (With the whole "Who would wait for the fusion to be finished?")

yes i got the same prob's. i can hear the audio but i only get a black screen in VLC and in MPC i get a blueísh screen with the background of my desktop flashing by :S also only sound.

i've finished episode 1 and 2 and wow this is a pretty cool anime... the storyline isn't anything new, but i like how they fight with shadows and stuff.

Slickwillysubs is currently in trouble and has had to stop subbing while they look for a new translator (Their old one, Slick, quit due to RL issues such as school)
DATS has gotten a new translator, and is resubbing the episodes (or so they say) starting from Eps 1
ILA-Skewed seems to have dropped the alliance and now it is just being released under the ILA tag. Good news though is that they just released episode 7

I let my eyes glaze over and do other things. Its a little too formulaic.

Man, its a bitch trying to get the ILA episodes off Mirc. Kind of a dick thing they do, but their rizon site is a catch22. On their website they demand that you read the !rules before you do anything. On rizon, those rules are the usual no xdcc, but lastly link you back to the website with additional rules. By the time I get to those and read all of those damn rules I get banned for a year for not saying anything. Sure enough, its burried at the bottom of the website rules. Completely roundabout stuff thats unnecessary.

With the release of the game, I figured this thread could use an update. The series is up to episode 18 in Japan ATM (according to animenewsnetwork).

I'm currently catching up to the episodes I've missed, but I find it interesting how the story in the anime is significantly different from the game.

Going to pick up the game now that its out. How different are we talking? Are the characters still all present?

Star fansubs is up to 13 now. Their translations are on-par, but they will occasionaly miss lines or translate them incorrectly. Not that I'm complaining, I just want to warn folks to watch out.
