Based on a manga by Kimura Tahiko serialised in Gangan Wing.

Nagasumi visits his grandmother near the sea during the summer. While visiting, he goes for a swim, and drowns right after entering the water. Fortunately for him he is saved by a young mermaid. Later as he tells the story to his family, a young girl named San appears at his home and begs Nagasumi to marry her.

She’s followed by two large thugs and they take both him and his parents to San`s home under the sea. If that wasn’t strange enough, it turns out San`s parents are mob bosses. Nagasumi is left with the choice of either death or marrying San. He chooses to marry a mermaid.

This would likely be that, except San`s father and some members of the mob are not exactly thrilled to have Nagasumi courting San and are determined to bring an end to their relationship--or him. And there is also the matter of keeping it a secret that San is a mermaid.

I've read the first couple of chapters for this series. I myself don't like reading much of these types of mangas, so I got bored. Now, animated it should be better for my tastes so I'll be looking forward to it. It should have some funny moments and a shitload of wierd characters.

Edit: It was decent and funny. Quite chaotic. The main character dude is a whiner, at least in this first episode, but perhaps he will grow some balls later on. I'll keep watching to find out.

i'm really not as impressed with this show as i thought i would be in the beginning. it a good show, it has it's funny moments. but overall it is just kind of plain. hopefullly it gets better as it goes on.

I need to say or rather, ask something, why can't Nagasumi just tell his future wife about Maki chasing after his life? Or is there something preventing him from doing that?

Technically she isn't anymore trying to kill Nagasumi. Yet her personality is just such that it appears she's doing that every five minutes. I guess San is just too much an airhead to really think about how such a situation could make her a widow even before they are married.

Instead, to keep appearing manly before his wife-to-be by not complaining about chibi women, Nagasumi should just take away the water machine gun and destroy it. Maki would be a lot less terrible without it.

This ep was epic in it's parodying, the "Ironman" was a dead ringer for Mitsuomi Takayanagi but most his actions were pure Terminator, the final scene with him was so like the original I lol'd then remembered how touching that scene was the first time I saw it.

A warning, entire lines from people are missing from the Otacon subs of ep 12 so I suggest waiting till gg gets around to subbing the episode instead of getting Otacon's almost subbed episode.

Am I the only one that's lost interest in this series? The Terminator pardoy was good and all, but this series has yet to make me laugh, it's so crazy and zany and there's no sense of direction but thats how it usually goes in these type of anime. However, it just seems so boring now. I'll probably watch an episode of this here and there and keep up, I guess.

I think she has about a 0.000000001 % chance of replacing San for Nagasumi. Even Luna has basically no chance, though I think he does at least feel something for her. Mawari is a childhood friend and I don't think he sees her as anything more.

Yep, Maki was a tad interesting the first couple of times (well, not really) but she is just getting absolutely irritating.

Episode 17 is out by a number of groups.

Shiranui gets more and more pissed at being paraded around as the queen of the delinquents, and Mawari just keeps more fervently blowing her little whistle. Every episode, I think, "These characters can't possibly get any more insane and stupid." Yet, every successive episode, they just keep getting worse. This episode didn't disappoint at all.

I love it.

(As a side note to episode 15, we had to have realized the Iinchou had a dynamite body and face. It wouldn't be cliche enough otherwise.)

Lol San Mom FTW! She finally got a decent chunk of screen time and she definately doesn't disappoint. San is a good blending of her parents personalties. I'm guessing she gets her determination and willfulness from her mom and her retarded impulsiveness from her Dad.

The mindless rabble of jealousy was great too, though you can't really blame them looking at Shiranui.

The sexiest episode yet. If you watch this show at all for the ecchi moments then get this ASAP. Also, Michishiro Nagasumi is the best harem guy I've ever seen. Not only does every female character get wet whenever he looks at them but he's actually not a giant tool like most other harem guys I've encountered. Good for him.

Seto no Hanayome 17th Episode Broadcast on AT-X Cancelled

In an official announcement on the website for the anime series Seto no Hanayome, it has been announced that the broadcast of the seventeenth episode of the series on the cable network Anime Theater X (better known as AT-X) has been canceled. The episode was scheduled for broadcast on September 3.

According to the announcement, the broadcast was canceled due to copyright infringement concerns. Specifically, in episode seventeen, some of the characters that appear in the episode closely resemble characters from another show. Negotiations were held with representatives from the other show, but the problem was significant enough to prompt AT-X to cancel the episode altogether.

Although no announcement has been made publicly as to which television show is levying the accusations, one Japanese web blog has mentioned that the show levying the accusations is probably the action series Kamen Rider Stronger.

The end of the Seto no Hanayome announcement mentions that the staff of the show hope to fix the problem and eventually reschedule the AT-X broadcast.

From what I see, the series is on episode 18... so this episode 17 they talk about, is it a re-broadcast? Does the series broadcast on another channel than AT-X?

It seems 19-21 have been released by a group called Philanthropy...I would recommend avoiding these releases. Not only are they completely unedited and poor translations the timing is also pretty atrocious as well. You might as well watch a RAW.
