Manga: Unbalance X Unbalance

First off, this has nothing to do with Hunter X Hunter. Anyways, I just started reading this manhwa, and read all 4 volumes released in one sitting. I really recommend you guys to get this as fast as you can as I'm sure many of you will like it. Lot's of good drama, most are more mature than what's usually seen in this type of genre. Some cool characters, hot females, and lots of ecchi for you people that like that sort of thing. But the main part is that the story is really good in my opinion, so give it a try. There's even a bit of fighting in the 4th volume.

Also, I haven't read many korean school life series, so it's nice to see the cultural differences, the values and how strict some of the teachers and parents can be and still be acceptable by society, given that's fairly true in real life too. Still interesting...


A young man finds and returns a lost wallet and cell phone to a beautiful young lady, thus begins the destined relationship between two strangers. Sound typical? Well then, how about making the young lady the young man’s future homeroom teacher, and give them both a twisted sense of right and wrong. And just for kicks, let’s have the young man help himself to a self proclaimed reward from the lost wallet before returning it… but of course, this scenario wouldn’t be complete unless the young lady was very unforgiving when it came to teaching one of her students a lesson on morals.

Ah, this manhwa. Kinda confused me at first since it's left to right...The story's pretty good and it gets VERY interesting later with the secondary characters. And as an addition, Korean Manga Translations scanlates this.

Yeah, all scanlation groups should say in the first page the direction you should read from ex., left to right. And the story does get better as it goes along. At the beginning it seemed like the usual school life comedy series, but a couple of chapters/volumes in the story really picks up and the drama increases substancially.

I was really hoping Jin-Ho would break that other dudes face, right then and there. Especially since all the classmates think he's a wuss, and all talk and no action. Everyone there is due for a reality check, and I want to see how badass Jin-Ho can be. I bet the story will make him hold back which will piss me off eternally, but I still have a little bit of hope.

Man, I loved this chapter... Jin-Ho goes totally nuts, breaking the chick's face an all. Looks like next chapter Jin-Ho and Hee-Chul are going to go at it. So "what kind of bastard" is Jin-Ho, I hope he goes crazy breaking legs and shit.

As for 34, Jin Ho is a complete psycho, but he is kind of right about what he said. Just because girls are girls, is it right to give them a double standard and make them immune to any kind of retaliation unless it is amongst themselves?

This is supposed to be an equal society afterall. I personally kinda agree with him. We have feminists fighting to be equal as men, to wear the same collars as them, work the same jobs. But when it comes down to it, they get the shit beat out of them and they go "You hit a girl!". They always pull that card when it doesn't suit them. They hightail it when the girl card helps them, equal rights my ass. Serves her right.

I got pretty much what I wanted out of it. Hee-Chul, who swiftly kicked Young-Gi's ass before, was dumped on his ass my only one of Jin-Ho's punches. It showed two things, a) Young Gi's shock out how strong Jin-Ho is proved that Jin-Ho had been holding back all the times they fought because they are friends, and b) Jin-Ho is a monster when it comes to fighting.

I loved the pissed look on Hae Young's face when she showed up in the very last panel. Such an evil look for Sunsengnim...

Young Gi wasn't in shock, he knew how strong he was. It was the other people around him that were in shock, especially the class president. Young Gi wanted to stop the fight becaue he knew exactly how strong and violent Jin-Ho can get.

I wonder how Hae Young will take seeing Jin-Ho's severely violent side. So far, it doesn't look like she will take it very well. Especially after seeing that he hit a girl, even if she was a colossal bitch. I take it Jin-Ho didn't want Hae Young to see him this way either.

I'm not sure, but I doubt it was in volume 1. It was after Jin-Ho stayed at her house and after she became the surpervisor of his club, just around the time were she accepted his hobbies (the porn movies) and what not.

So Caroline is a fighter, I see Jin Ho was suitably impressed, and she's a pretty good one at that, according to Young Gi. Jin Ho does seem to like the feisty ones that have a cute side to them, like Carrie after she introduced herself, and of course Hae Young. She's more similar to Hae Young than I thought, more evidence of who she really could be.

Now to see how long it takes for Carrie to reveal her surname...

I'll give this thread a bump. Chapter 39 is finally out.

Ami makes a sort of peace (love the evil side she openly shows to Jin Ho still), and Jin Ho takes the opportunity to announce to Hae Young that he will make her fall in love with him.

As a side note in the chapter, a new language teacher is on her way, and she was injured right in front of the school the other day, but nothing too serious. Hmm, who could that be?

Carrie is a nice character to have, I like her so far. I wonder if she knows who her half-sister is, especially after hearing her last name... she must realize that it's the same as her father's even if he's using a different last name in the UK.

I don't think she did at first. She was surprised to find out Hae Young's family name was Nah, but after she asked about Hae Young's older sister, I think she pretty much confirmed it for herself. Carrie knows she has two half sisters, who are living in that area of Korea. The strange look she gave Hae Young, a mix of happiness and sadness, when she said "Having an old sister must be a wonderful thing," should all but confirm it (Hae Young even felt shocked by it).

Will Jin Ho fall for Caroline instead? She's got all the same attributes of Hae Young, but she's also a fighter, something Jin Ho is obviously attracted to.

I expected Carrie to outright hate Hae-Young or swear revenge, but I was at least a little surprised her goal was just to make Hae-Young acknowledge her as her younger sister.

A lot of manwha really isn't that great. I read a good amount of manwha, and the overwhelming majority of it seems to be about who is the jjang (gang leader) of a high school. Seriously.

Hot Blooded Woman is a pretty decent manwha. Just as Ryllharu said though, the story for it is gang related (i don't understand why that is about the only setting i see for manwha, even the shoujo ones). The story however is pretty interesting and somewhat original so you can try it out.

The more i see Jing-ho, the more he annoys me. The guy is an arrogant jerk with anger issues, the one part where he confronted Carrie just because she couldn't handle the spicy food was pretty ridiculous

I would personally get irritated if I see a foreigner eating a dish from my country while screaming and complaining. I wouldnt call her a yankee out loud, but I can understand why he reacted that way. He actually didnt mean to confront her, but she heard it, and that led to a confrontation. Being a person with a personality that does not let conflict simply pass, I think he reacted typical of his character, and in a humanly understandable,as well as realistic way.

I've been reading the other works by the author or the artist in the meantime. Onihime VS, Aflame Inferno (different artitst but same style), or Freezing (same artitst as Aflame).

kmts really only likes to do tank scans for the majority of their series, mostly because they look better and are way easier to edit/clean. Can't really blame them, some of the other scanners use magazine scans for UxU and they look really bad.

Aflame I've been reading and I've been liking it so far. Was going to start a thread on it in the next couple of days. The others you've mentioned I have on my "To Try" list. While we're at it, I have to catch up with Black God and Zero. I also want to try The Legend of Maian.

Well get up to date... sometimes I wish there was less of the harem aspect, and more male competition for the teacher. I really miss Jin-Ho kicking some ass, and I'm sure that would be the perfect opportunity for him to do so.

ID is another good manhwa from ktms that you guys should take a look at. It's not by this author but it's a solid action series with a nice mix of eastern and western fantasy.

Yeah, I was like 3 volumes behind before I decided to catch up. And seeing as you'd have to wait till May for more to come out, maybe this is as good as you're going to get for the time being (depending on how far behind you are).

The latest volume ended in quite an exciting place with a cool cliffhanger that may or may not screw things up for everyone depending on decisions from some characters.

ID I read one chapter a while ago, and it didn't catch me right off the bat. I've been thinking of trying it again since it's been highly recommended to me from other sources. I'll check it out as soon as I can.

Jae-Kyung must have had some pretty major psychological problems/traumas beforehand for this to realistically happen. After all, she was herself an expert at terminating relationships so getting turned down certainly should have been no mind breaker.

Jin-Ho is such a decent guy - aside from wanting to grope his teacher's boobs in broad daylight - that I doubt he would ignore her if there's something he can do to bring her back to her wits. However, I really hope this won't go down the idiotic path of Jin-Ho agreeing to act the role of Jae-Kyung's boyfriend.

After returning from hiatus, the writing in this series went from rather entertaining to one of the worst things I've read. It's really incredibly disappointing. I know I said it before only a few posts up, but sadly, nothing at all has changed.

It's a shame, because of a lot of the author's other series are very good. It's like the two of them had absolutely no idea how to end this, and are now just throwing in more and more random soap opera trash character development and trite lines to go along with them.
