Am I the only one actually liking this arc? I think it's because it's more light-hearted and fun, rather than serious, dangerous and dramatic. I'm finding it entertaining, kind of like one of those 5 minute OP soccer specials but extended.

I really miss the ad break animation of the silouhette of the Straw Hat crew next to the Going Merry, with the "WANTED:" poster floating in front of the screen playing a certain member's music and showing their poster. The new one seems inferior.

I actually liked this episode. It was pretty funny, and most of all didn't feel nearly as unequal as the previous ones. For example Zoro cutting the tree to fall straight on top of the course was just the kind of thing the foxies could have also done, and thus it levelled the odds. That's something I was looking for all the time, but only this last event of the three had it.

And yes, the new ad break is clearly inferior. I always keep expecting somebody else than Luffy would look into the tube for a change, but damn, it's him every time. Dunno what they were thinking when they made this. Probably the saved 100 yens...

I don't mind the new eye-catchers, they're not terrible. However, I didn't like this episode. It was mostly comedy (and not in a good way) - Luffy learning how to skate only to crash into the side of the track, and Nami and Usopp practicing their shtick on the Foxy captain. Plus, why did Robin exit the track, only to do what she should have done while skating (i.e., immobilize the Foxy captain)? It makes no sense. This episode seems suspiciously like filler to me.
