the op is using j-reggea, which i like, so i don't mind the new OP at all, though i wanted it to be more like op9, with the fighting silhouettes

The new OP was not to my tastes. Seeing everyone was nice, though screw them for showing Sasuke, Kishi made us wait forever to even get a glimpse of him in the manga. It's my opinion that Japanese people shouldn't try to 'rap' for more than a couple lines at a time.

The ED also didn't move me, but the animation was kind of cute.

I like the intro, but the guy that starts singing mid way through with the deeper voice sounds like Cookie Monster. Would've been nice if there was some fighting in it, though.

I thought it was the best opening for the series to date. The song itself isn't something I'd listen to by itself, but I love how it flowed with the animation so well.

Hmmmm I liked the op. more then the ed. people probably like the ending only b/c of the animation that went with it.

The op. on the other hand had a nice beat and nice animation that worked nicely. It's probably the reason why I've been listening to it all day..

Utterly dissapointing for me. I thought they'd work hard with the opening but, meh, they made it seem like Gaara was one of the main characters, and they showed Sasuke way too early.

Hell Yeah!!! It's been a fricking awesome night.

First I got to see the premier opening of my play which had a kick ass opening, then I come home to find all kinds of Shippuuden goodies waiting for me.

Honestly I kind of like the rap/ raggae opening for naruto. Then again I was also a fan of the gantz opening as well. But it feels so awesome to see the series kick off with a fresh start.

Does anyone know where to find the raw on youtube? I was looking around for it and I couldn't find it. What I did encounter was this. Which is legitimately from Shippuuden.

But it seems rather odd that they'd kick off the launch of Shipuuden with that? Seeing as it don't talk about future arcs. But the animation did get me excited especially with the new dramatic music. Really kicks some major ass. It's nice to see the studio pierrot writing monky's have been locked into their cages and the team that normally manages the cannon material have been brought out of cold storage.

If anyone knows where to find the full raw on youtube could you post a link. Even without subtitles I'm dying to see it.

Nah, I didn't mean it in that sense. I just didn't think it flowed with the rest of the opening.

I mean, you have all these fast, flowing images then you cut out for a little intimate time with Gaara, and then you're back!

It had that awkward, sitting-alone-in-a-room-with-an-old-relative-you-haven't-seen-since-you-were-a-baby vibe.

Hahahaha, the Opening has amazing animation and is pretty stylish, but it sounds like the American version of the One Piece opening would if it were in Japanese.

Edit: and yeah, the chibi animation in the ED was cute.

watched the first episode special and thought the OP and ED were the worst parts of the entire episode. dislike both the music and most of the animation, the sketch style in the OP especially. the part in the OP with Gaara holding out his hand just doesn't seem to fit at all... two thumbs down. good thing the episode was so awesome.

To be honest, I kind of liked both the opening and ending for Shippuuden. The opening was good; I liked that the song was about everyone coming back since it pretty much fits the scenario in Naruto right now. And as Xan said, it was pretty stylish. I liked the ending as well, the animation was kind of cute with Naruto and Sasuke. I'm so happy Naruto is back on track now, I've been waiting so long to see some of the manga chapters animated.

I'm gonna have to go with the people who hated both the intro and outro. The characters and artwork were fine, but the music is just...ugh. There's just so much I don't like about the songs that I can't be bothered with pointing out specifics either good or bad. Kind of like looking for trix bits in a pile of doodoo, and trying to distinguish different piece of doodoo according to consistency. blech. Go back to "Wind" ending from yesteryear, thank you kindly.

I liked the animation, but the music and lyrics for both gets a big thumbs-down from me. If it wasn't for the fact that they showed some more akatsuki in the OP, I would have to rate it the worst opening ever. The ending was slightly better, but not by much.

Maybe it's just me, but I love the ED, and the OP is one of the best ones in the whole series (Naruto is one series for me, Shippuuden or not :p ).

I like the shippuden opening, it isn't the best of the series though.. i think the 3rd was my favorite rawwwwwwwr and like terra said at beginning of thread, the best part is toward the end where it shows the akatsuki guys.
