One weekend last year, a friend of me and my roommate came up for the weekend. We pretty much played SC for about 48 hours straight. Taking our time every round.
If Blizzard stopped working on WoW for a good year or two, they could make a huge burst of money when every single person in South Korea bought SC2, in addition to making a lot other people very happy. (But then again, they earn 120 million every month off WoW, and probably only drop 3 mil back into server and dev costs.)
Protoss Super Fleet ftw
SC is probably the most well balanced rts ever. The three races even account for differences in play styles, and still end up balanced.

no matter how old this game gets, it never gets dull or boring. something about it just makes you go back to it, now and then. i remember having a shit load of lan parties for this game, the craziest gaming years of my life, but i'm pretty sure i forgot a lot of things.
nuclear launch ftw! terran was my favorite race.

There's nothing quite like looking at your friend's face when you sneak an Arbiter into their base, recall in a Super Fleet with lvl 3 shields, and give a deadpan "Scramble." just for effect. Or them smirking at you after "Nuclear Launch Detected." and you furiously look for the tiny red dot that will lead you to the Ghost.

man, i once had like, 12 lurkers taking over half of my friend's main terran base, and like...ANY attempt he made to stop them ended in a bloodbath. Those things are brutal when all you have to see them is a comsat.

and as soon as they lift up their base, you send in scourges later on to take out the remains. can't land, can't stay in the air, it's priceless, yeah?

I hate when you think you're decent and then you just get demolished.... yea...
I uploaded some Korean progaming vids:

crazy intense.
Edit:
Found a user who has quite a few youtube vids:

If you are looking for zerg vids, I'd suggest Savior. He's practically ripping everyone apart and has like an 80% win ratio against protoss (I think).

Anyone know how to get multiple computers behind a router onto battle.net at the same time? I think it has to do with having the same IP address....would something like a proxy take care of that?

Damn, I have been a part of this forum for about 2+ years and I am now discovering this topic and the fact that ya'll play SC. I actually just played a game with my roommate tonight too.
Lazie, just lemme know when you want to play I've been playing almost from when it first came out. though on and off.
Broodwar that is. and my name is AvengingStorm. I hate the fact that I keep having to create a new account once I dont log on to Battlenet in a couple months. Oh USWest as well

People still play this game? Wow. I remember playing all night with my Korean friends, those were good times. Gotta love it when you're scouting and a horde of lurkers pop out of the ground to kick your ass... but everyone knows protoss is the best race ;)
@Assertion:
I think you just set the router to have static IPs on the subnet. Shouldn't that take care of the problem? Either that or it has something to do with port-forwarding... man I'm so rusty at IP gaming it's pathetic.

Well, the problem is that Starcraft requires a unique IP for every user, and my ISP only provides one IP for me to share with my 2 roommates.
That's why I think the only solution would be to obtain proxied IPs.

Here's one thing to try, I'm not sure if it would work or not.
Have person A get on battle.net and stay on. Have person B (different computer) open a command window and perform an ipconfig /release, ipconfig /renew. If your ISP dynamically assigns IPs, this might give him a new dynamic IP. Then he should start Starcraft + battle.net like usual. Battle.net could possibly be fooled into thinking that these were two different IPs. Either that or person A will lose his connection to battle.net. This probably doesn't have much chance of working, though.
Proxies will probably work, but man will your connection to battle.net be hella slow.

Assertn,
I think what it is is that, Starcraft requires a unique starcraft CD key. And battlenet does not(?) require a unique IP address, just the unique Starcraft CD key per user. So from Battlenet's perspective it doesnt care about which computer is connected so long as the CD key is unique since it only checks the CD key. From BattleNet's view 2 computers from one router might be seen as one computer. And the different IPs is only within the router/network. But the router can figure out which computer to send the data to when interfacing with the external internet. And since Battlenet doesn't care about the IP addresses and only denotes the cd key as separate, it allows say 2 computers to operate as 2 distinctly separate entities, even though once the information is sent back to the router, it is sent under one bundle.
Therefore if you have burned the same copy of the original Starcraft CD for 3 people on the same router/network, it wouldn't allow the same key from being used thrice,at the same time. But at the same time if you have 3 separate CD keys but operating on the same router, then that is when a bottleneck occurs and severe lag time sets in.
Just keep in mind that I am not the most technically attuned person, so I might be off with my theorizing. Just thought that, this might give you some food for thought and possibly help a bit.
Cos I play with my roommate occasionally on BattleNet at the same time and we do use the same router...

My bro and i have different copies (both legit) of SC and we can't play when the other is on (we're on a router so we lag each other out). Its not a problem for us tho b/c we play with the same ppl and we'd just end up against each other a lot and that wouldn't be good. It's actually better this way so we can give each other advice when the other is playing and not actually fight one another.
btw, when i started my friend introduced me to money maps, and sad to say thats all i play now (except for UMS). If you guys play ZC look me up ("bookburner" i haven't played in a year so my old account got deleted and i'm rusty). i wanna learn how to play the normal maps though so if u wanna help me out with that i'd appreciate it a lot.

one of my friends told me there were secret missions for completing certain levels without cheating in under a certain amount of time. He's one of those kids who stays awake for hours on end just playing the same level over and over until he beats it (we saw him playing some racing game in the afternoon. We came back after dinner and he was a 2 or 3 levels ahead of where he was when we first left him. When we woke up the next morning he had completed another 6 levels.). Then again, he's also prone to lying so i'm not really sure about this. i guess someone would have to look at the files/code to find out for sure. NVMD i looked it up on google and there are in fact secret levels. Have fun playing through them AssertnFailure.

unless i am mistaking, there is only 1 secret level.
not really worth it.
Unlockable: Secret Level "Dark Origins"
When you reach Mission 9 in the Zerg Campaign "The Reckoning" beat that level with at least five (5) minutes remaining.

I also know that one of the terran and one of the zerg missions lets you arrange for the setup of the following missions. Like, with terran I think you choose between confiscating battlecruisers or nuke silos and whichever you choose you get for the next mission, while with the zerg the more command centers you infest, the more you get to use in the next one.

I still play it, but most of my friends have migrated to World of Warcraft and have stayed there. They spent most of their time doing raids and collecting quests, so I don't spend that much time on Starcraft.

You can now download the opt-in tool from Battle.net to check your system spec and send it to Blizzard. This will sign you up for the SC2 beta that will start sometime this summer.
You will need a battle.net account with at least 1 game by blizzard, so go find the CD key for your old Starcraft, Warcraft or Diablo copy (it'll give you access to the digital download version so it's win/win) and get the beta opt-in tool here (https://us.battle.net/login/login.xml?ref=https%3A%2F%2Fus.battle.net%2Faccoun t%2Fmanagement%2Fbeta-profile.xml&app=bam&rhtml=y).
edit: I forgot to mention that WoW will also work, for those of you that play it.

It took me like 30 tries before my got through. Try turning off your firewall, anti-virus and all other internet application when you're doing it.
Trying at different times also help, since you got a ton of people who are probably still trying to do this.
