I've rewatched eps 1-102 again, and I must have missed it, but which is the episode where Naruto finds out Shikamaru has been promoted to Chuunin? I thought it was around 98, but I must have missed it.

Also, does Genma ever fight in future episodes? I thought he had a really cool presence, and wished they showed more of him fighting during the chuunin exam calamity.

Was that episode the first appearance of the Ahou bird in Naruto? That might have indeed been the first "crazy" filler, or even episode, and at least it was the first episode where I paid attention to the bird.

During the chase arc, doesn't Genma fight the guardians?

Yes, Genma and some other jounins fight the sound four, but it doesn't show the fight.

ya they get owne and need medical attention, but they did force the sound 4 to go into2nd stage cursed mode if i remember them saying correctly.
