and this one is a pic I drew of Roxas Just for fun after watching one of my Chappelles show DVD's, you know Roxas was pretty angsty and almost kinda emo when he was in the orginization

Checked out your da page. You got some good stuff on there. I like your style how it kinda crosses btwn an anime/manga-esque style and the style of some webcomics i've seen. And in regards to your drawing of your character Trey, I lol'd when I saw your "FOR THE LOVE OF FUCKING GOD THIS IS NOT RILEY FREAKING FREEMAN!" post.

I understand how you must've felt when you wrote that. Guess some ppl think that there can be only one character with braids. I too have done a drawing of a character with braided hair (based on a friend of mine), but luckily no one has mistaken it for riley...yet. Actually i've never posted it anywhere online ;)

Anyhow nice work. Keep it up.

Nothing's created in a vacuum, man. For instance, I was looking into Austrian Art, and I saw the paintings by Egon Schiele. These immediately made me think of one of my favorite animators, Peter Chung. Now I know where Chung got his inspiration. That doesn't make him any less great of an artist. Don't let comparisons bother you. If you ever want to have a career in art, you'll be asked to name your inspirations a million times.

Aye. I have to agree with longhair. It's a totally different thing being inspired by something than just copying something. Your drawings here, in my opinion, demonstrate nicely a special kind of effortlessness; they look natural and not forced, and show emotions. That's quite commendable.

Tablets seriously rock. I love my Wacom. But then again I can't really draw anything... One friend of mine bought one, didn't end up liking drawing with a tablet and sold it away, and went back to pen and paper. So, I guess it depends on the person.

your art style is awesome. have you ever considered making web comics or things like that? because with your skills and someone with sick humor, it can turn out to be one awesome thing.

I did but I was way too lazy to keep making it and I actualy had a website and domin name but had to take it down due to poorness. I'll probly end up making comics at www.entervoid.com if I get some prismacolor markers or a tablet.

Yhea I really need a tablet @_@ hope I get one for my birthday
anyway I finally colored this pic of chase:
it was for a character contest at a forum I goto.
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/3981/chasemx1.png
Chase age 19.
Born and raised in California until the age of 17 when he was sent to Osaka, Japan as an exchange student where he was attacked by 18th century samurai. After months of recovery he decided to drop out of school and become a ninja... but he realized that that was a dumbass idea so he droped out of that aswell. After 2 months of living in a box in some random dark aley he went back to ninja school and is now an assian for hire the only thing is that he is horriable at it and usually blows his cover but one day on the job he met 16 year old Haru who he became friends with but in a vicious plot twist it turns out that Haru is a samurai causing Chase to divide by zero due to massive irony.
i'm thinking about making a real backstory and putting him into www.entervoid.com

I was at Otakon last month and in the art room, they had this one guy taking requests and using a tablet to do his work. All I can say is that I was just in awe. When I first saw him, he was coloring/editing his own picture of Cloud. He also had some fucking awesome Gundam designs. This is his site, check it out: Aborted Creativity (www.abortedcreativity.com)

A tablet is soooo worth it. And Fox Fire, great stuff man!

I like your style a lot man. Once you get better with lines your characters will look even better. Try getting lots of pens of many sizes and practicing with different sized lines, always have a some sharpies around too, eventually you will learn how to use different lines better and it will add to your style.

I agree with SK. Thicker lines would add a lot to your drawings.

Good luck.

fyi about tablet(have a Intuo3 9x12)
pros: makes small touch ups very easy, eliminates a scanner which can distort art work some times <.<, intuo3 has lovely little hot keys that can be assigned to certain applications, pressure and tilt sensitive ,etc… pretty much every thing you already know about tablets

cons: some things are better to do with pen and paper, isn’t really anything like drawing with a pen take about a week to get used to fully(or at least that was my learning curve), some times doesn’t stop where you think it will(it might just be me but sometimes drawing a circle and when it should be completed there’s a little gap still, pressure sensitivity is really odd(you’ll see what I mean) but you have different tips to adjust for that too

Despite all that I love my board (I also got my right when intuos3 came out so that was about 2-3-1 years ago not quit sure O.o

Probably knew all this :P

ps. great work :P reminds me of a crazy mix between daria and illwillpress

How does a tablet work anyway? Does it act like a canvas where the mouse pointer on the screen will disappear? or will it practically just act like a touch pad with a pen replacing fingers?

Im actually doing fan art myself, and Im having trouble cleaning a sketched piece up for coloring and stuff. I was thinking a tablet would solve this.

Nice original drawings btw.

it's pretty darn good for 15 minutes worth of effort.

what was the person in the bottom left supposed to be? just ran out of space?

The right side of the middle guy's head is sorta incomplete still, ear and hair. There's some collision between the two characters there, but that happens on quick doodles. Also, the smoke could be infinitely better. I thought it was lightning bolts for a minute.

very good facial expressions and overall feeling.
