Itachi, Jiraya and Orochimaru

It seems that Orochimaru is much weaker than Itachi, in that even combining with Sasuke, they say their odds of killing Itachi are not good.

However, Itachi is scared shitless of Jiraya, even with his shark-friend helping.

But Orochimaru wasn't scared at all when he saw Jiraya come on the battle field when the three Sannin's fought. Maybe Orochimaru realized Jiraya was poisoned.

But still, it seems an odd loop.

My guess is all three Sanins are at similar levels.

Itachi should be stronger than all three. But for some reason he is scared of Jiraya. I wonder why?

Maybe when Orochimaru said he wasn't strong enough, it might not mean Itachi, but the entire Atasaki organization. He's might be baiting Itachi in front of Sasuke to get him to train harder.

Orochimaru is maby scared of itachi becuse he doesnt really understand all his ability. jutsu and more.
Oro have been in same team with jiraya and he was better then jiraya when they was kid so he think someting else of jiraya then itachi just what i was thinking about

Oro isn't really scared because Itachi is that much stronger, it's just that Itachi was able to obtain power, that he, the genius, can't obtain. Big ass inferiority complex.

And Itachi isn't scared at all. He just stated, that taking on one of the sannin is troublesome, even for him. And we do know from his actions, he simply doesn't like trouble. He likes clean, accurate cuts, without turning whole countrysides into a mess.

could have something to do with itachi using up all his chakra bullying sasuke with the sharingan... on top of that, i doubt itachi is so powerful that, even at full power, he could get away without coming away with a missing limb or gaping new hole in critical areas...

Itachi has exhausted his sharingan powers that day against Jiraiya (against Sasuke and Kakashi). Probably you could say Jiraiya was lucky. Maybe.

But then again, at the same time, Jiraiya had already casted his jutsu, the Frogs mouth or something. Which Itachi felt that they we're at a serious disadvantage, and if they would have to fight, the odds of them winning wouldn't turn out good.

Itachi is not only just a strong in his own right, but I believe he is equally intelligent that he doesn't take uncalculated risks.

Orochimaru fears Itachi, because Itachi has the ability to read all jutsu's using his sharingan. Itachi cannot be defeated twice. We don't really know the extent of each others abilities to be honest. And Orochimaru lost his hands.

Orochimaru also has other goals as well. It's not that he wants to fight Itachi. I would think his goal would be to live forever and learn every single jutsu there is to be learned. Hence he wants the Sharingan (Sasuke's body) because it can unlock every single jutsu. At the same time he wants to help Sasuke achieve his goal by becoming stronger and killing his brother. If Orochimaru takes over Sasuke's body, I doubt Itachi would just stand by and let him do it. So it is equal benefit for Orochimaru to defeat Itachi by using his brother.

No, Itachi was definite saying its troublesome to fight Jiraiya on the episode where they first confront Naruto. They want to avoid meaningless fight no matter how strong they are because they waste time. Also, Itachi says Naruto should not be rushed and there is still time. And I think when some people are at a level of strength and power in the Naruto series, strength and power does not matter anymore, its the intelect of your fight. Jiraiya certainly IS somewhat of a genius at fighting. So is Itachi and Jiraiya. In the newer manga, it doesn't take strength to defeat enemies, it takes wits... Akatsuki members ARE really strong and Sakura was able to kill one of them. Sakura might be strong but i don't think her levels are at the height of Akatsuki because they are stronger than Hokage.Sakura still killed that puppet guy by using her head. So Itachi must be afraid of Jiraiya's battle style and his strategies. Not to mention i think the leader of Akatsuki is the 4th Hokage becuz they showed the leader of Akatsuki's hair only and it was blonde. If Jiraiya taught someone like the 4th and raised a legend, then thats reason enough to be scared of.
