Episode 1 by Himitsu

http://anime-himitsu.edwardk.info/bittorrent/%5BHimitsu%5D_Inukami!_-_01_%5BE35F87C6%5D.avi.torrent

"It is based on the novel with the same title.
Kawahira Keita was a descendant of historic Inugami(*) tamer family. However, because he lacked in its ability, he was forsaken by the family. One day, an Inugami named Yoko came. She looked graceful, obedient, above all, beautiful. Soon he contracted with her, and she paid homage to him. However, she was a problematic Inugami that no one had been able to control.

This is a slap stick comedy of an Inugami Tamer, Keita and an Inugami, Yoko. Keita is a man of worldly passions, and he likes money and girls very much. On the other hand, Yoko likes to destroy things and very jealous.

(*) In this novel, Inugami is a sacred being. It contracts with a human with power to help him exterminate evil monsters."

But I have to say the original web site of this series is one princess dream with its design and style... I wonder what kind of series lurks behind it.

It certainly sounds interesting, and as I'm currently watching so many other animes, it can't hurt to pick up one more... so... downloading first episode now =)

Up to episode 4 has been released. I'm liking this series, it's pretty fun. Characters are quite good, the animation is great, and it has a couple of funny scenes.

Mendoi and Himitsu are both subbing and have gotten to episode 8 so far. Their translations are both pretty good.

so far, I'd say the series is interesting in that it's well-drawn and has a generally cute (if slightly ... umm ... strange) storyline.

But Youko's constant "Shukichi!" is starting to get a bit old. Every damned time she gets even slightly annoyed, "oops, you're outside, and your clothes are still here".

This is a lot like the last thing I saw Mendoi sub: Amaenaideyo. It's unapologetic about its utter perversity, which only serves to make it a little but funnier. But it's quickly degrading into the same formulaic patterns. And ... what's up with the cat?

I get the feeling that it's going to follow the Amaenaideyo pattern to completion, though -- that by the end of it, the female leads will be in a slightly happier position, and the male lead will have learned absolutely nothing and be exactly the same as he was before.

TBH, I'd be pretty happy with the show if Keita ends up appreciating Youko, and Youko stops getting Keita arrested for exposure. It'd be a nice change of pace.

Now that you mentioned it, Complich8, I realise I've been fearing the same thing for a while now. With 10 episodes watched, it seems that a change should start to surface soon if ever. The Shukichi spell is seriously starting to annoy me as well, in a matter of fact started already a while ago. It has the element of being funny the first few times, but after the novelty factor is gone, it just feels unfair and wasteful, considering all the potential.

Aye, I seriously hope this won't end up similar to Amaenaideyo, because I really have liked this series. Even if the first episode promised too much of Keita's fighting spirit (against Youko). Lately he's just been receiving everything like a divine punishment, just like Ikkou in Amaenaideyo. That just sucks and doesn't create a trace of equality (respect between the characters). Not to mention I can't fight too much fun in an otherwise fine main character losing the fight in every damn episode.

It's nice, however, that it was a double release, as those two episodes formed a continous arc. They were some of the best episodes so far, even the (obligatory) shukichi and exposure managed to be funny this time. And of course Youko's real form revealed wasn't a bad detail either. Although the end of the fight left me with an impression that Youko could have kicked the shinigami's ass all by herself, and Keita's whole brave fight was nothing but something necessary for his self-respect.

Yeah, that form was pretty nice but something tells me we wont see it again until towards the end of the story.

Finally caught up, but I think Youko needed to see Keita getting his ass kicked. If it wasn''t for that, she would've still been under the control of the shinigami's fear spell.

I think Keita's bit of fighting had more of an effect than just provoking Youko. I think they did real damage to that Shinigami -- he was staggered at least, lost his glasses, and I think a lot of his offensive power and a lot of his composure was lost in the process. He still would have kicked Keita's ass if it were a one-on-one fight, but ... that was a given anyway.

Give the man some credit though! If nothing else he came up with a good strategy :p.

Just (well... last week) found out about this show. And I caught up. Personally, I was pleasantly surprised. especially with the last two (or three eps... since it had that bunny!). What's Kaoru about anyways?

A good question. As he seems to be mainly just a person who's referred to in his absence, I don't know if he's ever going to get any significant role. On the other hand, there's still the latter half of the series left, so who knows.

Mendoi has been silent for quite a while, but here's the explanation:

Hello boys and girls,

It's been a while huh... Even though we haven't released anything in a long while, we're not dead yet.
As some of you might know, the main reason we haven't been active lately, is because Kaen, our leader, has decided to leave us :/.
Kaen ( Mendoi founder, translator, timer, typesetter, encoder ) stole the group funds while I was away, and escaped to Mexico, where he was last spotted on the beaches of Cancun. He left a note saying that he needed the money to build himself a space ship. This was no surprise for us, considering the fact that all of us at Mendoi were saving up our donations so we could build ourselves a space ship.

Well, that being said, the next Inukami episode has been released and in cooperation with Shinsen!

Episode 14 - Mendoi-Shinsen (http://a.scarywater.net/mendoi/%5BMendoi_&_Shinsen-Subs%5D_Inukami_-_14_%5BF1994895%5D.avi.torrent)

Episode 14 was a very nice and quite peaceful one, and filled with much more romance and love than the regular episodes of this show, where the male lead is a pervert and the female lead is a tsundere.

But let's see what the next episode has to offer:
Episode 15 - Mendoi-Shinsen (http://bt.shinsen-subs.org/%5BMendoi_%26_Shinsen-Subs%5D_Inukami_-_15_%5B2FD8F35E%5D.avi.torrent)

Edit: A pretty funny episode, although with an extremely uber traditional storyline. Still, I don't mind the greater plot slowly tries to kindle a romance between Keita and Youko.

Had I the power to bend reality, it can be said, for certain, that one of my pastimes would be trapping straight men in nightmarish, homosexual hells that are gay beyond all mortal reckoning.

Yeah, I'm still not sure whether to take this show seriously, or not.

I pray for the absence of gay macho men...
That's funny, since the ending sequence for this particular episode is probably the most horrific, yet laughable, thing this show has offered thus far.

This show has lost what little coherency it had before and is only consistent in sinking further into depravity (can't wait for the grand finale).

What I find absolutely fascinating is that the macho men in spandex seem to be the anime's exclusive to "spice" the material presented in the manga (from what I've read of it).

Alright finally watched the final 13 episodes of the series, and I have to say that I really liked the final 4 or so episodes. It was non-stop action, and I thought the "final boss" was a good one.

Any of you guys heard anything about the movie? Did it come out yet in Japan?
