4Kids Entertainment has announced the launch of a new subsidiary, 4Sight Licensing Solutions, inc. 4Sight will specialise in the licensing and marketing of brands aimed at adults, teens and tweens. Current 4Kids brands being moved to 4Sight to not include any of 4Kids anime properties. Todd Fromer of KCSA publicity, representing 4Kids, said that anime isn't necessarily ruled out of the 4Sight line up, but that anime lends itself more to a children's market.

I personally believe they are going to f*** it even more.

And what's with the last words? Anime being more appeling to children's market?
They just want money...

Opinions? Flames? (to 4kids preferably)

PS: What the hell is tween? Haven't heard that term before...

Tweens = kids roughly 10-14 years old.

Perhaps this will be a good move for 4Kids. Personally I can't see any good coming out of it. In the end it's the same company. And God knows what they think is appropriate for "tweens"...

Imagine what a 4Sight dubbed hentai would be like? o.O

Let's look at it this way, with 4Sight there's a bigger chance they won't slaughter the show with horrible edits. I mean, all the guns in One Piece are popper guns... Seriously now. Maybe 4kids actually is hearing what people are saying about how they are ruining the shows, and 4Sight is a way for them to not butcher them as much?

I don't think this bit of news really matters.

A is A and 4kids will always be 4kids, the crap shoot of our lives

They may leave in some of the violence (though I'm willing to bet still not that much). But you can be sure that they'll still butcher every line, change the names of all the characters to western ones, put in a random assortment of American pop culture references that don't fit or apply to the eps at all, and hire terrible VAs who sound like a vague attempt of a middle schooler at acting.

And then there's always the episode compression technique, or skipping the first 4-13 eps.

I pray for any series that gets licensed by any division of 4Kids.

i doubt it...

i know most people are especially hard on dubbers, and i am too, but maybe, just maybe the number of shitty edits and crap line changes will go down with this change.

i'm interested to see what gets sent to 4sight and what they keep with 4kids
