Ok it's been a while and being that the main fanart thread died a long long time ago I've decided to start my own thread. I haven't posted any fanart in a long time here so some of these works are old, however I'm going to try to post here at least once a week.
Like some, I too am swamped with work, school, etc so please don't flame if it isn't updated very frequently.
Some of these artworks may seem familiar, so to those who might think that I 'borrowed' them, I used to go by the names "animemaster" on these forums and "animemasta" on DA(deviantart). Btw I took my stuff down from da when I changed the name so don't expect to see any updates there. On a last note, I ask that users don't quote the pics in the post as I'd like to conserve my imagehost bandwidth.

Ok I'll start out with an old inuyasha piece
Inu (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/AMaster/jovinu.jpg)
and
alphonse of fma
alphonse colored (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/AMaster/Alphonsecolored.jpg) err..might've stretched the forum borders so click link
the sketch (low details) (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/AMaster/Alphonse.jpg)
rep if u like.
I'll find my files and upload to host tomorrow.

Awesome art man. I wish I could draw that well.

How did you color them, in photoshop?

thanks. and to answer your question, yes i color them in photoshop.
i'm still learning certain things like shading and working with the mouse is a pain, but all in all fun once you begin to get a hang of the different tools.

Well, I can't say I know too much about colouring in photoshop, but I have to say I thought you did I really nice job with that picture of Alphonse. You've captured the metallic feel. It looks really nice. Very ambitious to try to post once a week! I know how insane school can be. I'm really looking forward to seeing more of your art in future though.

Wow. You are good. I am sure it takes a long time to make them, you sure do have patience to make them.

Why do you make the black outlines so large? That makes it look horrible.

Yeah, you should try making the thick lines a little thinner, I think it would make it look much better. But you do an awesome job with the photoshoping/coloring. Keep it up :)

^At first I never really played with the line diameter so most of the lineart I did look very thick as you will notice. I kinda went along with that for a long time(still learning), but for my most recent pieces, I tried using a different line type.
was bored one day and attempted to make that ipod theme (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/AMaster/janbukakashiPod.jpg)
Anbu (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/AMaster/Random_ANBU__by_Jovon.jpg)
Kuwabara (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/AMaster/7.gif)
Hiei (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/AMaster/First_attempt_at_Hiei_by_Jovon.jpg)
^^these 2 were my first shot at drawing>coloring characters that weren't from naruto. they're a few years old. as you can see, kuwabara came out rather gritty and i didn't get the shading results i wanted. i was somewhat pleased with the way the hiei came out though i hated not catching that little hump near the wrist early on

*update* Recent piece
After I heard that there would be a new Guyver anime series being released, I worked up the courage to attempt a drawing of the character. I am pleased with the results of my 8+ hours of labor on this piece. (sketch+photoshop work time)
Anyhow I gotta say I'm happy with the results of my labor. I have to admit though, it took a lot longer than I hoped. I really didn't expect to spend much more than 5hours tops on it but getting certain things to look the way they should was a really tough task. I can't wait to ditch the mouse for a tablet once I take care of some important things and save up some more $.

here's a lineart of haku (from that scene w/the mask in the ani/manga)

the sketch (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/AMaster/jhakusketch.jpg)
i played around with the brush sizes on this one in hopes of not having the lines too thick. this is still a work in progress and as far as coloring goes, i haven't touched it yet.

It's a big improvement in terms of brush size. I like it, good job :)

The guyver is by far the best one. Good stuff.
But try to tone down on the thickness of the black lines.

*wipes layers of dust off the top of thread.

Ok so last weekend, I started to work on this brolli pic based on this old sketch. Tried to clean it up in PS still some jagged bits but, anyhow that's not important.
After several lineart and color attempts, the lines were too thick so I decided to go with a line size of 2px and I was happy with the results. Here:
BROLLI COLORED (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v380/animem/Art/5c91c81c.jpg)
edit : fixed link
*my imagehost auto resized the colored version even though the two are the same dimensions and roughly around the same filesize.

Anyways
I have another piece based on a kabuto fight scene that I had started to re-do last week. It's not quite finished yet, but I think I'll post it tonight. Gotta get to work.

between work and school, this past semester was really hectic. except for being in drawing class or drifting off during a boring lecture, i didn't have the opportunity/time to do any anime related art so as i try to enjoy what's left of summer before i go back to school, i'll post up some sketches or whatever i can.
Shizune fights Kabuto. from an eps. wayyyy back when they briefly fought.

the original sketch (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v380/animem/Art/154d8aae.jpg) was sooo shitty.

& very rough naruto sketch based on a promotional picture for the naruto shippuden video game.

that looks pretty neat, though, when copying, i recommend you use clean and straight lines.
take your time, and try not to use erasers, though you did a pretty nice job .

Was the Naruto one copied line by line, or just used the promo pic as a basis to create an original one?

*update*
finally got around to coloring this last night. never really did any pics of kisame so here's my attempt..yea i kinda made a mess of his hair on the lower right side.
excuse the slight sharpness of the facial lines, i was playing with the "simulate pressure" feature.

good work on the face, notably the bottom right. you ever plan a full shot of him, maybe doing a jutsu or maybe with the sword? The hair needs work, and I think the closest one is the bottom left, then the top left one. The forehead protector wrap is also a bit too big on the bottom right one, but otherwise it's damn good. You do it from memory? Or while looking at something?
