Somebody has used this editor?
I've been using it for ages to cut parts of episodes or take screenshots.
Recently, after installing CCCP (Community Codec Pack [missed a C]) it won't open any video anymore.
Any idea what caused this? I even downloaded the newest version.
Help is very appreciated.
Thnks.

Well the problem may be that other codec packs and/or codecs are conflicting with the CCCP in some way. The simplest way to do this is to use the CCCPI and a reinstallation.
Link to download CCCPI (http://cccp-project.net/downloadi.php)
So my advice here is the following
A correct (re)installation procedure goes like this:
1. Use the CCCPI to find any old codec packs (Matroska pack, K-Lite, Nimo etc.). If it says "previous installation" about something, that means you had the pack in question installed before, but that it is now uninstalled. DO NOT TOUCH THE "Register filter" AND "Unregister filter" BUTTONS!
2. Uninstall ALL codec packs that the CCCPI lists as "Installed", DivX, XviD, FFDShow (important!), VobSub and anything else codec-related you might have on your computer, including the CCCP if you had it installed before and playback still didn't work. Use Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs to find and uninstall them properly.
3. Reboot. IMPORTANT.
4. Install the CCCP.
Tell me if this doesn't work

This also happened to me with CCCP's latest update. It plays the sound but you can't see anything at all right? To fix this, go to View -> Options -> Playback -> Output. Change your DirectShow Video to VMR7 (renderless). You can try setting it to one of the other VMR's if you want but this is what I have it to. Hit Apply and that should fix it since I had the exact same problem as you. Stay on the lookout for an update to CCCP to remedy this error though, because most of the time it should play on the default, Overlay Mixer.
EDIT: I forgot to mention that I use and did this in Media Player Classic. I don't know if the same option is in Zoomplayer.

Deadfire:
I'll try that. I'll let you know
NarutoMaster:
Err... I can see videos perfectly on Media Player... I was asking about Virtual Dub.
EDIT:
Already uninstalled every codec. Rebooted and reinstaled CCCP.
Virtual Dub still won't work.
I get:
"Couldn't locate decompressor for format XVID (unknown)
Virtual Dub Requieres a Video for Windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by Windows Media Player, are not suitable"
It worked before I installed CCCP for the first time in january.
And like I said, even though I can play all kind of videos in Media Player Classic, Virtual Dub won't open them.

Did you try uninstalling VD before and install it AFTER CCCP that second time?
this is interesting as that had said they fixed this. as in their release notes in the most recent version (2006-03-06) they say this
Finally added the VfW part of ffdshow (after much complaining from people who wanted to do stuff in VirtualDub)
If you still want your Virtual Dub (I'm not sure why but that not for me to decide) once you install it AFTER CCCP. Follow this to make it work with Xvid files
XviD in VirtualDub (http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/xvid-vdub-11.htm)
If all else there is always VirtualDubMod (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=65889) that has support for the matroska container format.
anyways thats all for now report back if you have anything else

My bad. I saw that you were having trouble with CCCP and I actually had a problem with my MPC where my video wouldn't play at all. I don't know too much about Virtual Dub so I can't help much. :( But you've got Deadfire, he knows his stuff. :)

Well, I use virtual dub to cut parts of episodes into smaller files. Like the intros for instance. I was uploading videos to my ipod.
Anyway... the only way I made it work was installing an Xvid codec outside the one installed by CCCP.
Thanks for all the help though Deadfire and NarutoMaster.

Yeah, CCCP leans very heavily on ffdshow (which is just a directshow filter, not a vfw codec) for its decoding. So if you're doing virtualdub work, you need to actually install compatible vfw codecs (ie: koepi xvid binaries).
To be honest, if you're working with vdub, you probably aren't well-served by cccp anyway. You'd be better served by the Gordian Knot codec pack (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=77391&package_id=78307&release_id=292295) -- which really is an encoder's codec pack.
Most other things are really more playback-centric, and CCCP is no exception.
