it falls between ocarina of time and wind waker. It looks awesome.

eh? after carefully thinking about it, it doesn't look too bad, but it doesn't have that old fashioned zelda feeling as much as the other games did.

well if you are comparing to ocarina, of course not. Well maybe we'll have to play it and see.

I like the summoning aspect. I'd be cool to summon some animals instead of just Epona. The new battle system looks great also. The parry feature and the final stab are really great because it makes it fell more like a real fight.

thats what is so awesome, it intertwines wind waker and ocarina

darkmetal, are you trying to imply the new game will involve elements from both ocarina and wind waker?

it look awsome! go link stop that goat *goat run over link*
lol
but seriously this game look awsome, but i still wonder... is it gonna come on GameCube or the Revolution... because i read somewhere(french website that talk only about game, a good website..
www.jxp.ca) that it will come out at the some time with the revolution and will be a Gamecube game, playable with the GameCube, and the revolution Controller, do you think that true?

Assertn
Tue, 01-03-2006, 06:08 PM
Last I heard, gamecube games will play on the revolution.
I'd expect it to be for gamecube though, since it was supposed to be out this year.

Damn, I seriously want that game. I'm glad that we get Epona early in the game also. Though I still don't get this. Is he the Ocarina of Time Link or another Link?

Ryllharu
Tue, 01-03-2006, 07:52 PM
The video answered that. He is a different link from the Ocarina of Time and Windwaker (obviously that one). Chronologically in the Hyrule universe, it is between Ocarina of Time and Windwaker.

Looks really good, I can't wait to get it.

Though, I wasn't impressed with Wind Waker. The gameplay and graphics were nice, but the story and zelda feeling just wasn't there. Probably the worst Zelda game I ever played.

Hope Twilight Princess doesn't disappoint me.

I guess I'm alone when I say I think Wind Waker was a wonderful experience and it was all the zelda I could ever ask for. It acted more as a transcendence of the old Link and Zelda, thus, requiring a transcending story as well. =D But oh well, we all see Zelda differently I guess.

I liked windwaker.....
but getting the triforce pieces by underwater treasure hunting instead of going through more dungeons was pretty dissappointing

I'm assuming just about everyone has played or has some experience with Windwaker

Windwaker wasn't a bad game, unless you were the one playing it. I watched my roommate play it and (I) enjoyed it a lot. He hated me SO much when I started making fun of how long it was gonna take to get all the triforce pieces.

The story is great, its just the map pieces, endless sailing, and missing the triforce pieces by a tenth of the width of the boat are where most of the complaints come from. The escort dungeons are pretty bad too, except for the one with the bird girl, since throwing her against a wall for personal amusement can make up for it. The little potato plant guy isn't as fun to throw against the wall.

But the last fight against Ganon, and the cutscene where you finish him off makes it all worth it. Best scene (and fight in the 3D games) in any Zelda game as far as I'm concerned

Totally agreed. I also have to say that I wastly prefer Ganon in Windwaker compared to his other incarnations. The puppet master fight was very cool.

Seeing Ganon duel wield with such force and grace at the same time made this incarnation of Ganon my personal favorite as well. For a big guy, he sure can move i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif

I didn't think the treasure salvaging method was all that bad, I saw plenty of error tolerance. Navigation in the beginning really did feel like a drag, but at the same time, I enjoyed watching Link at the vast sea, I felt that it was more immersive that way. I'm not saying it's a great way to travel, but there were ways around that as well. I must say...I was sorely disappointed when I saw hyrule staring at me in the face, just so an unknown force would bar me from it. At first, I unleashed all my weapons on it, hoping for a possibility of piercing the infernal wall. But alas...I gave up in my futility, oh well...a man can dream.

Don't talk about Zelda:TP until November comes around. Then we can all do our best to forget about it until the time comes and then the wait won't be so incredibly painful (not that it already hasn't been...)

Oh shit, I don't know whether that's good news or bad news. On the one hand, we'd have to wait even longer. On the other hand, they might be releasing it on the Revolution, which would be pretty cool.

Also, if it is released on the GC, at the same time the Revolution comes out, I'm gonna have to go with buying Twilight Princess instead. I can't afford both, and no next gen console is worth not buying this game immediately imo.

Raven

If only they'd stuck to the original date, we'd have it by now. Or at least, we nearly would(?). Can't remember.

On the other hand, I'd prefer they release the game when it's finished as opposed to releasing an untested piece of crap.

ah! I dont know what to say... I want it bad, but if its for Revolution, itll be 2 times as awesome. Think about it, Zelda: Twilight Princess AND Super Smash Bros for launch titles. That will be a fun weekend.

Looks rather impressive. I have high hopes for this.

On the topic of Wind Waker, didn't like it very much. It just didn't... well, appeal to me. I don't really know why. Just wasn't very fun.

As for the coolest battle in Zelda, definitely the last fight versus Ganondorf on the castle's top level (Ocarina of Time).
Running up those stairs with the dramatic music getting louder and louder, damn, I just love that kind of build-up.

You probably didn't like it because of the sailing nonsense and the fact that the game was really short. The game was really disappointing to me. Though the combat system and yes the last fight was good. They could have made finding the 8 triforce pieces into 8 dungeons. The fact that you could beat the game with like 7 hearts and the rest of the heart pieces are found treasure hunting which was really boring made me hate it.

Hopefully Twilight Princess will impress me.

I was actually referring to the last battle in Ocarina of Time, not in Wind Waker (which, by the way, I never bothered to finish).

The wolf aspect will either be awesome or a total flop

I must be the only person on Earth who loves the sailing aspect of Windwaker. The main story is a bit short (along the lines of Majora's Mask), but the world of the game takes AGES to totally explore. That's what I loved so much about it. Sailing around looking for shit was really fun imo. There's also a lot of reply value, and yes @Terra: the final battle of Windwaker is pretty damn good. Not as much buildup as the OoT final battle, but it feels really epic.

OoT was CLEARLY one of the greatest RPG's of all time. That Ganondwarf fight was awsome with such dramatic moments in it. My top 3 fight from that game were, in order, Final Fight against Ganondwarf, Ganon, and the third is a tie between the Spirt Temple boss(because of the awsome funness it brought), and the Shadow Temple boss BongoBongo, because I like his name and through the entire fight he was tapping on a bongo i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif

You really should finish it, the last fight makes it worth it by itself. One of the most epic fights ever. Easily beats the final fight in Ocarina of Time.

As for the game, I kind of liked it at some parts and liked it less at others ( like when my GC decided to sporadically shut down after a 5 hour marathon of getting treasures ).
