Anybody else have mario kart DS? It's a pretty sweet conglomerate of the snes, n64, gcn, and gba kart games, with tons of new stuff as well. Best of all, you can play online with anyone in the world as long as you have a wireless router in your house.

because the difference between a wireless router and the USB dongle is.......

Router: puts up to (at least) 4 computers wired and hundreds of wireless devices onto the same internet connection
Dongle: puts up to 5 DS units onto the same internet connection

Router: compatible with any computer/wi-fi system
Dongle: compatible with nintendo DS, and only plugs into PC systems w/ windows XP

Router: Wireless range varies depending on type, but can usually cover a whole house and sometimes even the neighbor's.
Dongle: claims to extend up to 30 feet.

try to pick a med. weight person, a lightweight is bad, because you can get pushed off easily and don't do that curve trick with the R button, you can easily fall, just try to touch all the Extra Speed thingys.

By snake, do you mean power slide?

as similar as both things are, snaking is a constant use of the powerslides almost anywhere, straight or curved roads, meaning you abuse it to get light years ahead of the other players. it's a skill you keep improving on and it hard to be perfect with it.

didn't you notice how fast he did his laps by just snaking? it's not something you can learn in 5 minutes, you have to practice the skill over and over again, straight road and turns, that's what i've been saying all this time.

So basically.....it works when you're on real basic courses and not under attack by other players. Kinda cool I guess....I just play the game for fun, so I'm not gonna worry too much about it, but I might try it out sometime when I'm bored or whatnot.

Yeah, I do that snaking thing, mostly. I didn't know it was called that, though. Sometimes you can't because there's just no room, but I do it if I can.

I've unlocked everything now in regards to GP, still need to get the 7th set of missions (nearly there).

yay i finally finish the game! well not realy since i dont have the "Mission 7" but its not thats important... all cup (including mirror cup) are finish for me! yay!

and also, i played a bit in Wi Fi and man... a guy named "mr.penis" was going so fast it was like if he was hacking of something, he let me do 1 whole lap before he start (seriously, he was waiting for me a the line) and then when i completed my first lap, he started his engine (lol) and i saw him going so freaking fast! and it was in Rainbow Road! i just arrive in the first loop and he already catch up on me... i almost finished my second lap when he finished the race, it was crazy seriously... and i didn't fell at all, i was going at normal speed in rainbow road... and you know what, after the race was over, he voted for Rainbow Road again, just to pwn my ass again! oh and by the way, he had like, ~250 win and ~230 lose, it was just crazy! of course i quit the quit after the pwn my ass again in the second race...

something about your story doesn't add up..with a record like that..and the speed you said he was going at..it's unreal. even if he snaked and we are talking about rainbow road, one of the hardest places to snake, he would've fallen off, unless for some reason, he IS one of those RARE game freaks who play 24/7, memorizing everything from head to toe. i would also say he hacked, but since we're talking about a ds and not a computer, chances are unlikely.

I personally think the story is a little unbelievable. I snake...alot, as many can testament right now (good game you all! ^.^) Which is the only other "non cheating" method to grant you lots of speed, but the method doesn't give you an advantage THAT HUGE, especially Rainbow Road. Snaking on Rainbow Road isn't impossible, as I've done it but I did notice the tecnique is still very restricted, requiring a "dumbed down" version to accomplish. Anyway, I'm assuming everything you've said is accurate to the T and the guy you played did some serious hacking. Since Rainbow Road was chosen AGAIN (behavior you won't find among the better players) then it definetly sounds fishy. I have yet to see someone respectable choose the same track twice in a row >.> I've played someone who picked Rainbow Road 4 times (not that it happened 4 times...) I picked rainbow road just to beat him badly at it and to make him stop (it didn't work but it made me feel better XD)

i remember getting one stars the first time, because i kept falling off, going off road, or bumping into things, eventually got used to the maps and got 2 stars and 3 easily later on. just practice it over and over until you get used to it. though, trying to get 3 stars on everything seems pointless to me, you just get 3 stars next to your name when playing other people, big whoop. but i guess it's better than having no stars, so knock yourselves out!
