The movies that had made me laugh like nothing else...

All the Naked Gun movies

American Pie, the first one that came out... I don't find it that funny anymore though, but when it came out I couldn't stop laughing...

Dumb and Dumber, the first one was simply amazing...

Spaceballs... man I had been waiting for Spaceballs 3: Searching for Number 2, but it was apparently only a rumor... damnit

Black Sheep and Tommy Boy... come'on I had to mention a Chris Farley movie somewhere...

Blazing Saddles... Mel Brooks, that's all...

Three Amigos... Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, and Martin Short... can't go wrong

Weekend at Bernies I and II... I found the second one especially funny...

Billy Madison... Adam Sandler, enough said

Mrs. Doubtfire... Robin Williams was short of spectacular...

House Party 3... had to mention one of them, and this was my favorite...

I think I've mentioned enough for now... but I really have a lot of funny movies I find to be great...

Special mention: Jason X... I couldn't stop laughing on how shitty this movie was...

I don't know if any of you will know about this movie, seeing as it's pretty old and obscure, but it's one of the most hilarious movies I have ever seen in my entire life. It's called The Court Jester, and it stars Danny Kaye. I find a lot of modern comedies just comedies of stupidity, and those irritate me more than anything else (i.e. I once tried watching Duplex and I wanted to smash the tv halfway through, but settled for turning it off instead). This one is definitely not that. It's witty and clever, but it also has it's slapstick moments. Really nice balance of different styles of comedy, and more than a little bizarre randomness (those of you that know me know I especially love bizarre random comedy).

The only comedy that I've watched as many times as The Court Jester would have to be The Emperor's New Groove. Every time I watch that movie it just seems to get funnier. The truly good comedies are the ones that you watch over and over again, and quote to all your friends.

The Emperors New Groove is amazing. One of my favourite disney movies. I also really like Mulan. Eddie Murphy is hilarious as Mushu.

As for normal movies, almost anyhting with own wilson, and vince vaughn...that being said, naturally i loved Wedding Crashers. Though there was more nudity then i expected, it was a hilarious movie.

Much like kitkat, i find that alot of movies today aren't all that funny. Its more sex related humor, and random idiocy then actual jokes. I find alot of the old black and white stuff is really great.

The only black and white movie i can think of rite now is "its a mad mad mad mad world" (there mite be one more 'mad' in there). But i absolutely LOVED Laurel & Hardy as well as Charlie Chaplin (all his movies were pure gold).

I like Monty Python... but I've never considered it funny for me... It's just full of Brittish humor, which I get, but It's not something that makes me laugh...

i finally saw monty python and the holy grail for the first time.... and i think it's a movie better quoted than watched =P

Shaolin Soccer definitely ranks up there in the humor dept and I think it's better than Kung Fu Hustle. Stuff like Wedding Crashers or American Pie I tend to laugh at maybe once, but they wouldn't be my favorites. These days humor that relies on sexual innuendo or the bathroom is kinda boring.

Eveyone's listed a lot of my favorite comedies so I'm gonna list ones that I've seen just recently.

Pulp Fiction - not a "Comedy" by definition, but has some of the funniest moments I've ever seen in a movie
Snatch - British humor, but carries over well to an American audience. That guy from The Transporter is awesome in this
Cool Runnings - You might have seen it; that movie about the 1st Jamaican bobsled team with John Candy; I rewatch this one all the time

Nothing can beat the original producers. If you haven't seen it go dl or rent buy it whatever just SEE IT. I you will not be disappointed. although it's not a movie I highly recommend curb your enthusiasim. Also anything produced by Uwe Bowl is some of the most unintentionally funny crap ever captured on film (especially if you listen to the directors commentary).

Assassin, you're like my comedy movie soulmate. Mulan is one of my all-time favourites. Skip going to the bar, when we meet up we should watch movies instead. i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif

An irc conversation the other night reminded me that I love all the Wallace and Gromit movies. The humour that comes out of the UK is really a different brand than you find in North America, but I love it (I also forgot to mention last time how much I'm amused by Monty Python).

I second your selection... I have seen the first two and agree, and the third one does indeed ring a bell.

Just finished watching Densha Otoko. Strange how one series can be funny + sad + happy at the same time. Must watch for Otakus. I'd never have guessd they are so........pathetic i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif But it shows even Otakus can fight for their dreams, after anime hour of course.
