I've putten 2 hours on it so far, and it's great! Triangle is a cool button.
Which item did everyone choose between the staff, shield, and sword? I chose the shield (instead of doing what I'd normally do and take the sword).

But first, I should finish MGS: Subsistence.

As for the grandstanding, I topped off at 15.

I played a little more, like 2 more hours. I find that the combo attacks kick major ass, no matter who your with, but the one with Auron is very kick ass. I've only gone through 3 combos so far, but I'm loving the combat system <3

I thing is pissing me off though. The part with Roxas was so involved and made you love his character, but after that, it seems really rushed. Before, they eased you into some of the aspects, but they just trow them all at you as soon as you start with Sora. I would have liked the pace with Sora be a little bit slower than it accually is...

I picked shield both times, I'm thinking the added defense might help in Proud Mode difficulty.

As for grandstanding, my best was 43, but I only did that a few times, I found delivery mail to be faster at earning money.

I'm loving this game and I'm not even out of Twilight yet. I love the dual keyblades. But thing that kinda makes me alittle made is that you can't carry data over from KH1

Damn, this game was SO worth the wait. The English version of the intro wasn't that bad, but the Japanese version came out much better. Argg, the opening sequence was so BEAUTIFUL. Right now, I'm on Day 6 of Roxas. I went with Defense all the way. And the first boss fight was so sweet!!! I wonder if most boss fights are like that, relying alot on the Reaction command (which I must say, is a nice touch to the battle system). Roxas is a pretty cool character, I'm liking him already. Can't wait to check out Sora though :D.

I'm going right to this game after work. Last night I started the game at around 10 and played till 1:30 at night. I can only imagine how much time I'll put in this weekend (after homework of course).

I just got it and played through to the part where sora became available. I do like the battle system, and the 1st major boss fight kicked ass!! As for my choices, i picked the magic struggle weapon and the shield keyblade.

Maybe this more properly belongs in the bitching thread, but I figured that you guys would best understand my frustration. I went to Microplay today to pick up my pre-ordered copy of KH2. I usually am a die-hard EB customer, but the EB games is significantly farther from my place of residence than Microplay, so I sacrificed quality of service for convenience. Anyways, I got there, and said, "I'm here for Kingdom Hearts 2"
The employee glanced up at me briefly from his computer screen and said flatly, "We're sold out."
I was not to be deterred by his lack of understanding. "I've got it on pre-order," I said nonchalantly. The guy looked up at me, and with a puzzled expression on his face said, "Did we call you? Sometimes if no one picks up their game after a couple days we sell it."
And in my mind, I thought, "That is a terrible policy. They should wait at least a week, if someone has preordered, and put money on the game."
I was starting to get a bad feeling about this. "I preordered," I repeated. "I paid for the game in full. Here is my receipt. The guy said I'd get a call when it came in. I don't know if you called cause I haven't been home much lately."
How could they deny me my long-awaited game, after I had PAID for the whole thing? Seriously, I preordered specifically so this scenario would not occur.

The guy looked at my receipt. After pondering it for a moment, he said, "Whoever did this just credited your account. They didn't actually put the game on preorder for you. I can give you a call when our next shipment arrives. It will probably be around Tuesday or Wednesday."

So, I left. Feeling like I should never have deserted my beloved EB. I learned later that EB was not sold out. They had plenty of copies. Microplay is just craptastic. There is my tale of woe. A whole wasted trip downtown, and another few days before I can attain KH goodness.

As for my progress, I just cleared the "ONFG, I HAVE TO BATTLE AN ENTIRE FUCKING ARMY OF HEARTLESS" Area. That was so badass. Killing off 1000+ Heartless kicks ass. Also, thats where the story starts to come together. All ealier complaints I had about the story have been cast aside because the game has madfe the story fucking awsome again :D

Did anyone else notice that Aeris sounds hight in almost all of her Voice-overs?

Also, IDK, why no one liked Wisdom. It kicks ass :cool:

Well, it is cool, but it sucks. You cant do anything but attack and jump. And any Drive orbs you pick up do nothing, just get you out of it faster, since you cant even revert. It's happened to me about 10 times already. Its really iratating, espesally against bosses :(

I still havent gotten that for yet, but once you get Final Form, you can choose to go into it as if it were Valor, Wisdom, or Master.

it is, its just once you DO get it you can use choose into it. but i'm pretty sure you can beat the game and never get final form. its like the dark anit-sora except you can choose to go into it after it happens once.

I keep having trouble with the mission in the mulan stage, where you have to find the hidden enemies. for some reason my morale keeps running out very quickly, even though i kill the enemies and collect the balls

You get it in Halloween Town accually. Atlantica was one big disapointment. Next time you guys go, be prepared with Lvl 5 Drive Gauge, Magnara, and Thundraga. That everything you need to fnish that world.

While everybody else gave 9.0+ (famitsu gave 39 out of 40)

hey i found out maybe one of the best places to level up master form its Land of Dragons. Go to the throne room then into the Ante Chamber beat all the heartless then do the same right outside the Antechamber about like 75-80 exp i think...
and the world that never was for Wisdom and maybe Valor dunno..

There are only 7 Orichalcum+ in the game but thats all you will need in the end to forge Ultima Weapon :D.

MAXED OUT Final, Valor, Master, and Wisdom form.
Ultimate weapon snyth.
Donald's ultimate weapon snyth, the +version of donald's ultimate weapon snythed.
Saved before the final battle in order to get to lv 100, beat sephiroth, and get 100% in the game.

If you guys need help leveling up your forms ... do this

Wisdom form (1 exp per heartless killed):

Go to the first save point in the world that never was. Save with a full drive bar (if you dont have one, go to hurcules place, enter any torunnmaent, then quit, you will have a full lifebar). Now go into the next room, immediatley go wisdom form, kill all the weak heartless and go back to the save point before your drive finishes. At the save point, immedietley warp to world map, and then go back to that save point. YOU STILL HAVE A FULL DRIVE GAUGE! YAY! Do it again until maxed out wisdom form. Normal Sora gets the ability to do lv 3 dash (really sexy looking) when this is maxed. Its like the KH2 version of dodge roll.

Valor Form (1 exp per swing of keyblade that connect and do damage):

Yenno what, I pretty much did what I did for Wisdom form for valor form. You can kill the heartless in that room in 1 or 2 swings, and They dont stop comming! You will run out of drive before they stop comming so its all gravy, just keep killing. Normal Sora gets a very high normal jump when this form is maxed.

Master Form (1 exp per small drive ball collected, 3 exp for every large drive recovery ball):

This may seem difficult at first, theres acutlaly a lot of good places. An easy one is Agrabah. Warp back to Agrabah, run into the cave of wonders until you hit the first save point. Save then warp out to the world, now you have acees to that save point from the world map, teleport back in when you have a full drive gauge, go to the room you just entered from and kill the two big crimson spell guys. Each drop about 2 big orbs. (Have Jackpot and Draw abilities on to maximize collecting). IT will be slow at first, you'll only have enough drive to kill those two and a few more, but once u hit lv 4 - 6, you can literally clear out the ENTIRE ROOM and still have time to get back. Before drive guage ends, head back and warp out, then repeat. At max level, this allows Sora to do ariel dodge (a double jump) that allowss him to dodge well in the air in a way.

Final Form (1 exp per Nobody killed):

Best place i found to do this was after you get to the final gate of the game. Save, now Jimminy will unlock the jounral and you can warp to the rooms where the Organization 13 graveyeard is (where you fought the last two members, before Xemeus). Save at that save point, then run into the lower left portal, spam THUNDAGA and slash all the mobs in the room, run back to save point and warp out before meter is done. When you start leveling up, you'll get two DRIVE FORM abilities from FINAL FORM which substantially increases the duration of your final form. Now when you can, before going into the portal, go south to the small room where (spoilers excluded) two of your freinds were fighting some heartless. GO kill the 4 assassins, and 2 sniper nobies there, rush back to the room with the save point, head into lower left portal .. spam thundaga on the mobs and kill them. If you can handle more.. go to the top right warp portal and continue to kill the dusk, and if u have time, the berseker nobdies (thundaga is your best friend here). Run back before your drive guage ends. At lv 5 and 6 final form, i was able to kill about 23 nobodies per run, which is a great pace and helps you level up fast. MAx level final form allows Normal Sora do float while in midair ... now at max level ... Sora can float FOUR TIMES FASTER than he can run!!!!!

All forms max out at lv 7, if you max out everything, you can dash, then high jump, to a double jump, then float across a map. YOU WILL MOVE FASTER THAN YOU CAN ON A SKATEBOARD!!!!!!!!!

From Wiki: It is unknown if there will be a Kingdom Hearts III, however Tetsuya Nomura has stated he already has ideas for another installment; a clip that appears to be a teaser trailer for the next adventure is shown at the end of Kingdom Hearts II if certain completion goals are met. However, Nomura did not state exactly what he would like to do with this newest installment. Nomura did state that the Kingdom Hearts team would be taking a break from Kingdom Hearts for a while and work on something else so it is unknown when news for this new installment will arrise.

How I got final is this. I equiped oblivion and during the Siax fight I went into Master, nd BOOM, Final. You go into drive with that other guy, everytime, you WILL go Anti.

Well i hust looked at a Synthesis FAQ and theres one in The World the Never Was in The Brink of Despair (the second save point) so that should make 6 well i only have five and i should have 6....argh

From what I've read you need the abilities that let you double jump, glide, and dash all leveled up. I tried doing it in 30 secs. with the double jump and dash leveled up all the way, but I only got 37 seconds....

Ps: you get them leveled up by maxing out the drive forms

@Knives: Yeah, the only cool bosses were Siax (OMFG, orgasmic fight), Axel (Same as Saix), and the first and Final fight with Xemnas (What I said about the Saix fight to the 65246285656256552654 power).

Xemnas was an awesome battle. But the toughest opponent that I faced was Xaldin. I just couldn't find a way to dodge his main attack!

i just beat xaldin...what the hell that fight took forever. it took me 4 tries on proud mode. i couldnt get the concept of jump till the 3rd fight, i kept jumping even while he wasnt on the screen, thus hitting nothing and wasting my jump. i finished with 1 hit left (no pots, no mp no drive) at the end, and killing him with "jumps" with 1 to spare. i had to switch goofy and donald because they'd keep dying on me....and of course goofy saved my ass with "auto-valor" that fight was just...annoying...but fun:D

i expected a demyx like fight, but instead got...xaldin...yeesh!

edit: you know, after all this, i'm still wondering, who the hell is the guy that looks exactly like riku with a blindfold, and weilds the oblivion when fighting roxas in a flashback yelling "why do you have the keyblade?" i thought he'd be an organization member being riku's nobody but he's not any of the nobodys and he hasnt come up again yet

well i must say i still say xaldin is the hardest boss, the strangely, i had more trouble with xigbar than i did with saix...something about berserker mode that got me going.

and the best part was, when it looked like i was going to lose against xigbar, i have auto-valor, so i use it and...BAM final form! :D owned his ass with that.

I decided to give up on getting 100% on The Notebook(when I beat the game it said 99% -_- )

The ending was amazing, that entire last fight was flabbergasting(sp), and that last trigger command before the final cutscene was by far the coolest thing I have ever seen in a game.(make sure you press both buttons ;) )

Yeah I fought them and the powered up versions and the Enigmatic Soldier (E.S.), which by the way he had an awesome battle theme, but I had the most fun with Roxas :p

Just finished the game and i found it to be alot of fun, but just to do a little bit of ranting:

- I have no idea why they removed the soft reset

- In the Riku and Roxas vs the heartless scene, i have no idea why they used ingame footage instead of using the cgi that had already been created for the trailer

- The Winny the pooh part was still annoying

Now i head that in the final mix there's loads of stuff that there isn't in the original. Since i have 0 japanese skillz where could i at least read what happened?

Don't know how many of them thought that's been subbed to English, but from what I get there isn't really that many new things other than extra bosses, a new area, monster, form, keyblades and some new scenes ohh and the dodge roll you miss is back.

Mmm maybe but since it's in Japanese it takes a lot of the fun out of trying to play it. Was gonna play it if nothing else just to do the boss fight against Roxas but in the end it's just been collecting dust in my room.

Well all the voice-acting is in english, its just the text and the new scenes that are in japanese. If you've played it once before, it should be easy to figure out where to go.

It's not a problem to figure out what to do, but I'm not really up for the whole figuring out all the abilities etc and what's the fun in talking to people when you don't have an idea what they're saying anyway. Also from what I gathered when the voices are set to english and a new scene comes up they just don't say anything. It's just text at the bottom of the screen could be wrong of course
