Also at first you have to do some side quest and level up to atleast 10 before you can leave the firs area. then you get to decide what class you want to be and thats also when you would have more party type adventures. So how about everyone post back what times are good to play and when you have reached level 10 and are ready to get on the ship.

i played this game like 4 months ago....its fun at the begining but its fucking impossible gaining levels. the monsters dont give good xp. and ur attack doesnt increase all that much for each level. ur pretty much stuck killing the same monsters from lv 10 to lv 25

Just yesterday I reached level 31, which is the level limit for Kerning City Party Quests. Kinda sucks, but I racked up a tremendous number of ores and potions, and leveled rather quickly.

At above: hahaha! that's just about perfect!

Oh, and you guys should play in the next couple of days. The latest patch was for a halloween event. Ghosts, witches and bats are running around in Kerning, and more ghosts and zombies are running around just outside of kerning and sleepywood. Its cool.

Well I've recently run into a slew of good look and came across 2 dropped items. Figured I'd give the people here first shot, if anything catchs your eye tell me.

Here's a little useful information: When you do a jump quest, you're allowed to return into that area for awhile. If you do and go through the course again, you can get items. I'm repeating the forest of patience 2, thats where you do the quest for Sabitrama of Sleepywood. Every time you go through, you get two ore, each of the same type, but randomly determined at every go. It might be different for other areas, maybe you get items.

This is the kind of crap I was hoping wouldn't be in this game >_> Ragnarok had the same inflation/overpricing by players, and it made the game unplayable for me, since to get ANY low lvl piece of equip, I'd need something like 1,000,000Z >_<

The best places to sell anything are in Perrion, and in Kerning city on channel 1. Just walk along the lowest levels of both cities and you'll see a whole mess of people there. Just run around shouting "ORES FOR SALE". However, I recommend that you keep all of your ores. You'll be able to create items using these ores along with some meso that you can't buy, and the ore requirements are extremely steep. Just wear the equipment you have until you've collected enough meso to upgrade. My favorite source of meso is selling drop items I have no purpose for, like a rogue's armor or something.

I see way more swordsman than I do spearmen around. I see a spearman only everyonce in awhile. I've never seen a dragon knight. So, at least on the Broa server, spearmen/dragon knights are not common from my observation. But I think you're on the right track, you get to eventually be a Dark Knight!!

when you are alone you get like 8 exp for killing a monster, when you are in a party, thats exp is divised between the party member, so you will get like 5 exp and your party member will get like 3 exp

You should always try to party with people who can kill things at least as fast as you can. That way, you gain xp faster than if you were hunting alone.

you only party when you feel like fighting something that is too hard for you to fight alone but your whole party can conquor it together or, when you get somebody to fight for you and you literaly leech off them, if ur willing to do the work and wanna level fast, level by yourself.

Partying is good for faster leveling. Plain and simple. I have not yet had the displeasure of running into xp leeches, unless I purposely invited them in to level them. Its called newb training. Otherwise, all my partying experiences have been pleasant ones. Being a mage at low to mid level, my kill rate is generally the fastest or tied for fastest in group, but with 3-5 people in a party, it somehow works out to just be faster experience even if the other party members are warriors, so long as they are similar in level. If you get the chance to party, I recommend you do it.

Yeah, the new patch is completely awesome. They finally added some destructible environments. Now, if only they could add some interactive environments like moving platforms, and some traps on regular maps like falling snow. That would be perfect. They also need to balance the system. Sins are too strong, mages are too weak.

after checking a bit... they only added some stuff(the quest, the plant, the object, everything else) found on MapleSEA

lol. Just wait until you reach level 35, and you start getting KSed by sins. It'll be even worse at level 50, by with time most assasins have both haste and critical maxed out. So they're moving faster than you, attacking faster, and doing more damage per attack. Furthurmore, at the third job level, they get this attack called meso explosion, which increases in damage with the amount of meso dropped. This allows them, in combination with their dark sight (turns them invisible) to be able to solo balrog before any other class in the game. Mages power just doesn't compare. At low levels sure, but at higher levels, nope.

And about the destructible environments, there are boxes you can destroy in orbis, and there are other plants you can destroy all over the kerning city swamps. They may add more later.

lol. Lightning = Useful only against weak monsters. I don't know what level you are, but when you get to level 52, go to cold eye with your maxed out lightning and take em out. For comparison, bring a sin at about the same level with max critical. Watch it take about the same time for the two of you to take out the same number of cold eyes. If the monsters are weak, then sure, the mage is faster, but who gives a crap about weak monsters?

Then you take a look at ice...Sure it freezes monsters and stops their attacks, but as you go up in level, it'll take you 3-4 hits to beat monsters sins take out in 2. I think the sin gets out at least three attacks for every two attacks the ice mage gets out. Consequently, they don't care that the monsters attacks are stopped. They're dead before they have a shot at attacking. Also, when you get to levels 40-50, go and try to KS a sin of comparable level. He'll hand you your ass on a platter because he'll kill thing so much faster than you.

right now, I level faster on fire drakes then on any of the weak monsters around. Furthurmore, weak monsters give generally crappy drops. You don't get a lot of cash from crappy drops. I think there comes a point where you need to not fight things you can kill in one hit. I've hunted at henesys before, and the mushrooms just don't spawn fast enough for me to use lightning to its maximum potential. Panlids aren't such bad drops I guess, but they sell for 300k. Steeleys, dropped by firedrakes, sell for 10 mil.

To Below: .....................You realise that, there are at least 3 job changes in maple story right? and you realise that the first job lasts from level 8 or 10 all the way through 30, and the second job lasts from 30 all the way through 70, and that the third job lasts from levels 70 all the way to, at least 120? There may be a 4th job level in the works. Furthurmore, assuming you do everything correctly to obtain each new level, every level takes longer to obtain than the one before it. With this in mind, what level are you? If you're 30 or less, you don't really know anything. In the long run and for the majority of the game, mages are screwed relative to other classes as things stand. Btw, this edit only matters if your post below is in response to any of the things I've said.

after stoping playing for like 2 month... (i went to lvl 53 with my warrior though) i have made a new character, a Theft!

but i deleted it 1 week later and to finally make a Mage (future Cleric)

i know i said mage suck and all but... at least it was not the first character i ever made, like all the rest of those mage noob that think mage are the strongest...

and since bowman have good accuracy they good at almost every lvl

just finished this annoying quest of getting this damn girl some medicine, glad that's over. to top it off, she gives me a hat i can't use until level 25, some quest this turned out to be

edit 2: just turned level 20 today, bought some new equipment and taking on new quests that seem to be more fun than the last..

just for the hell of it, i'm thinking of making a warrior, so a warrior basically only needs str and dex, right?

i would make something else, but from what i see of archers, they are overrated and not at all impressive and a mage seems too weak and hard to bare with in the beginning.

I agree... but Windia is even worst...

it look like all hackers from the other worlds decided to go in windia, Windia is even more populated then broa now, and broa came before windia.

Windia is definatly hacker central I can't level anywhere without walking into several.

My main guy is a level 81 Crusader on Windia named Dorangie although I haven't been on in about a week or so due to final fantasy 12.
