Absolutely right. I didnt like the pace and story in the beginning but then it jump on you. Its like you see all the pieces of puzzle but cant make out what it is.

* Basilisk -Probably the best show now a days, I used to think naruto was best but those damn filler episodes sickens me..
* Gundam Seed - GREAT SHOW
* Gundam Seed Destiny - sequel to GSD, really good until episode 38 then it went downwards, still good though.
* Samurai Deeper Kyo - Only me likes this but it's cool to watch, Kyo is badass!!
* Starzinger - lol, great show!!
* Robotech - the first season, wtf happened to the sequals, they sucked long times and broadwise
* Blue Gender - Hell why not???
* Ninja Scrolls - theres a great movie, then the series was quite good also..
* Hellsing - Really liked this series, alucard is badass!!!

As Budweineken said, robotech is the american version of Super Dimensional Fortress Macross.. It's a really old series, but i liked it! lol.. moslty because i watched it when i was young.... the time before i knew that the thing i was watching was anime..

THE SEREIES THAT MADE ME WATCH ANIME!!! Neon genesis evangelion, it's a good show.. a little more mature, a bit complex.. But it's really cool.. it's from 97 or something.. look at it!! it's great!

AND WTF.. I have forgotten Rurouni Kenshin.. ITS ONE OF THE BEST SHOWS.. It's a about a hitkori (assasin).. REally good.. you must watch..

along with Full Metal Panic (first season is alright, fumoffu (kinda season 1.5) is the funniest anime i've ever seen, and The second raid is pretty close to being a masterpiece)..
Full Metal Alchemist is quite good too (Best full series i've seen)...

as far as ongoing series go... Bleach and FMP:TSR are the best imho... although there are other pretty good ones

If you enjoyed Naruto you'll probably also love Full Metal Alchemist and Hunter x Hunter. FMA is quite different from Naruto. If you want something in the ninja category and can handle mature subjects and more gore/ adult material go watch Ninja Scroll or Basilisk.

Kenshin is great if you enjoy the samurai showdown kinds of shows.

If you want something diffrent from naruto, then go for FMA its kind of diffrent well the main idea is... Anyway, I watched few Ep of FMP and it was funny so you should watch it too. GDS, that's the only GD that I watched and its good! And watch Samurai Champloo its good and Cowboy Bebop really good and D N Angle....very childish but I still like it!

FMA-5 Stars!! I didn't like the it at first, but the later episodes really got me hooked

You really need to watch Rurouni Kenshin. Just an awesome Anime all around. However, my personal favorite is the Rurouni Kenshin OVA series, simply genius, never have I seen an OVA series combine together action+drama+romance+mystery all into 4 OVA episodes. Just amazing. ^_^

Watch Gungrave, Mai Hime, Otogizoushi 1-13, stay away from 14-26 as the show goes through a time jump and gets really crappy and the greatness that is Yu Yu Hakasho.

Gankutsuou, Planetes, and Infinite Ryvius are my three favorite series. Coincidentally, they're all set in a futuristic "space age" era. EVERYONE needs to watch these! Gankutsuou is simply the best series ever made. If you think any other series is the best, you have not watched Gankutsuou. If you don't know anything about it, it's a futuristic anime remake of The Count of Monte Cristo.

Anyway, watch all three of those.

Some comments on the lower-rated stuff:
Gungrave: It seems like lots of people here like this series. I watched it a while ago, and it didn't really click with me despite having many similarities to Berserk. I remember that the voicing of their names (Harry, Brandon) was especially annoying. Although name-butchering happens quite often in anime, this really was a bit much. I also have a tendency to favor medieval settings over futuristic ones, so guns were probably a turn-off for me.

Ichigo 100%: Awful translation to anime, but the manga series was heart-wrenching the first four times I (re-)read it. The ecchi content is really a turn-off - the story would've been much better without it.

Monster
I stopped following the series at episode 52. Monster is a good drama series, but it just kept going and going, and I lost interest.

One Piece: While I'm loving the One Piece manga (avatar and sigs and all...), its translation to anime really lacks something. I'm not sure what it is - whether it's fillers, pacing, or maturity level - but there've been times where I've lost interest in following the series so I can't rate it higher.

Shingetsutan Tsukihime: Similar to Gungrave for me - I watched it a few years ago, and it didn't leave much of an impression.

Heh heh. I was actually thinking Dark Dragon's list looked realistic, as opposed to your unnaturally short one, Lucifus!

If I were to list here the anime I have seen, it would resemble that list, maybe with 15-20% of divergence. But going through them and adding scores would be too troublesome... Although I do have nearly all listed in an Access database, but not any ratings.

When I look at Augury's list, I can't help but wonder how different people can evaluate particular series so differently. But I suppose that's an integral part in the appreciation of art.

Edit:I checked Dark Dragon's list in Word, and it had ~133 titles. That's already more than I have watched, and below he tells he probably forgot many. I'm not sure if I have quite watched full 100 titles.

Yeah, it had a lot of short-comings and there were things I would have liked to be.... different. But still, it's one of the most emotional animes I've watched to date. Bringing forth both joy, tears and sheer rage with equal flair. It had a seriously awesome character gallery too.

Basilisk: Kouga Ninpou Chou

Gore, awesome fights and no pointless filler. Tenzen remains one my favorite villains due to his unprecedented cruelty and affinity to rape characters who "deserves it." It's a must watch if you're interested in ninja animes at all.

Hunter X Hunter

Old but still much better than most shounen stuff out there. Gon is one the few protagonists who doesn't piss me off and Hisoka is simply awesome. Superb character gallery both when it comes to protagonists and antagonists.

Berserk

Probably recommended at least a hundred times so I won't bother summing it up. A must watch.

Ragnarok The Animation

Yeah, I know a lot of people HATE it. I however, LOVE it. Why? ZEPHYRUS (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Thl2nrdN2bo) ( click and behold )! Best and most fucking believable character ever to grace an anime. Bar none. The premise of an XP farmer gone absolutely batshit insane is just too awesome. Plus, I can relate to his casting issues as a fellow mage.

I can't say I care much for the rest of the characters ( hell, I don't even recall most of their names! ) but Zephyrus alone makes this one of my favorite animes. The way he exited the anime was the best way I've seen for a villain thus far.

In short and with plenty of blatant adoration; GO ZEPHYRUS!11!1!
