Dunno. It could be makeup. You have to remember that a photo is 2D in the end. So, even though makeup wouldn't look nearly as good in real life, it would look better when looked at in a photo, like this. If it was simply photoshopped, I don't know why they wouldn't have done even better work.

Upon looking at lots of cosplay pictures, I have arrived to a conclusion. Somewhere in this world, there's a counterexample, but...

There is no such thing as a cool and accurate looking Sasuke cosplayer. I just never really seen one before.

I guess the majority of cosplay is to be dominated by the female species.

Tis human nature sir. If you want a better answer, here it is.

Everyone will notice the good things, no need to say them. The bad things take more skill to notice. Go to some cosplay sites and they consider this (http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b360/Xionixx/Crappy%20Cosplay/vicioustotheeyes.jpg) to be good cosplay. Why? Because to a lot of people, cosplay is cosplay. Now us here in the "good" cosplay thread look at them and critique them to certain standards, such as body type and such. Others don't. So that's why it seems like we always look at the bad. When people point out mistakes, it's just to filter the bad things from it (or sometimes to make it seen) so people will know what to ignore and what to look for.
