I know it's sorta off topic, but how far has the graphic novels progressed pass this series. I think FMP-TSR is such a great series........just as good as the first (fumoffu was good but not on par with the two main ones).......also, any place i can view the graphic novels? thanks

The whole Full Metal Panic! was a novel, from the original, Fumoffu to Second Raid is one novel. I think they made the anime right from the book. I can't open the manga link but I'm surprised there's a graphic novel of it.
Fix link? Anyone?

Wow Boku-itachi (http://www.boku-tachi.net/) has been speedy recently. They have released Chapter 2b and 3a in less than a month. There is also a rumor that a new FMP novel has been released in Japan, probably Vol. 2 of C.O.M.O.

Anyone still reading the novels? Boku Tachi has Chapter 4b released for Continuing On My Own. The last few chapters have been absolutely intense. I seriously thought that Melissa was going to die when that Behemoth wanted to step on her. And Wraith finally appears! So that's what she looks like, haha. She's finally become useful for a change.

Haha, the last chapter has been out for like 2 weeks now, Wren :p
Regardless, I was so happy that Boku Tachi managed to get the final parts of COMO so quickly. It had a really sad ending, and I'm really anxious for them to translate Burning One :)

From another site (http://www.superherohype.com/news/topnews.php?id=8224)
I was skeptical about this since Hollywood adaptations of movies in this category failed to deliver. But this could pave way to a new season and mech fans, like myself, will see the A.S. battles in full 3D glory. Until I read the name Zac Efron.

WTF? Zac Efron? That idiot couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. I'm so sick of seeing him. Now this film's failure is certain!

It's not yet confirmed if he'll take the lead role. I am hoping that he's a fan of the anime and will put the money that he nabbed from his HSM fangirls to good use and take the producer role.

Aren't the speed translations by Shutazen being used by another group as a basis for better translations? I wonder when those will be out. I tried reading Shutazen's work, but it was very difficult to understand some sentences (it is a speed translation, so one cannot blame him), and I don't want to spoil the experience of reading the FMP novels on poor translations.

There's still no mention of a new anime season in the afterword. However, Shouji Gatoh, Yasuhiro Takemoto (KyoAni director) & Atsushi Itou (Kadokawa producer) were together playing the FMP Pachinko game recently.

http://twitter.com/raito_kun/status/21570283372
http://twitter.com/raito_kun/status/21570447857

Gatoh wearing a TDD-1 hat (http://a.yfrog.com/img101/3647/52bj.jpg) in what seems to be a pachinko arcade. I'm not sure if the Kyo-ani and the Kadokawa guy were the people on his left.

Hint of a new FMP! season in the works? I definitely hope so.
Take this news with a grain of salt just to be safe.

The Japanese publisher Fujimi Shobo began streaming a television ad for Full Metal Panic! Another, the new spinoff novel project based on Shoji Gatoh's Full Metal Panic! light novel series, on Monday. The story of the new novel project is set over a decade after the story in the original light novels, and it centers around a boy whose destiny is changed after an encounter with a D.O.M.S. Arm Slave robot operator named Adelina.

Shoji Gatoh, the author of the original Full Metal Panic! novel series, drafted and supervised the new novel project, but Naoto Ōguro wrote the actual text. Shikidouji reprised her role as the novel illustrator, and Kanetake Ebikawa is contributing to the mechanical designs. Gatoh had indicated in January that "a little interesting project related to Full Metal is in the works."

The first volume of Full Metal Panic! Another ships on August 20, along with the ninth collection of Full Metal Panic! short stories.

Shoji Gatoh had a video broadcast through Nico Nico to answer some fan questions and, of course, promote the upcoming novels. Here's the summary of that:

1. The most concerned, 4th Anime. They can't say "no plan for 4th" but they can't assure anything------if the plan formally terminates they'll announce it, so be patient.
The artist (forgot her name): "Making animes take time"
Gatoh: "Will(?) send Laevaten+XL-3 to KyoAni"

2. More artworks' release, Dengeki Hobby in August will come with mechanic files, and Robot Tamashi will continue to release Side AS. (From HS: Wait, is that mean no more from Revoltech? Jeez, I don't have that much money.)

3. Sousuke and Chidoris' future will *probably* be surprisingly happy. Gatoh is still struggling about wrting Sousuke's past or not.

4. Ebikawa came, revealing the US-made M9 ("CORE-ja9"="Not this"......), and Mistral II's code, C3-5, is decided completely by mistake (the anime editors took the data's code as the machine's code, and it appeared in SRW). They apologize for that.
Also some reveal of AS-1/Zy-99M colourings, alternative designs for the later, "Type 96 Custom in Another is the strongest 2ndGen", etc.

5. Gatoh enters prevert mode when speaking of the new female lead. Like we didn't know that already.

6. That 9th short compliment forcus mainly on Tessa, nothing about Sousuke and Chidori.

7. SRW. "FMP may probably in Saisei-hen". What an answer. And Gatoh hyped up when talking about Shiori in Hakai-hen......

8. Reader's letter: "Which one is stronger, Belial or Bonta-kun?"
Gatoh: "Bonta-kun of course, what on earth you're asking?" (http://forums.animesuki.com/showpost.php?p=3716186&postcount=6491)

I can't understand what's so fricking difficult about continuing the anime. I have consistently considered it better than the manga, though I have no idea which one is closer to the novels. Still, even the manga reveals to me there would be jolly material for a new anime season. Didn't the previous seasons of the anime sell well enough in Japan despite being one of the shows sold all over the world (I assume, since the dvds are/were available even over here). Or are they waiting for the whole story to finish so that they can animate it will the very end straightaway? I hope that's, at least, the case and not animating the rest at all because it's not harem or moe enough by today's standards...

Lemon is unexpectedly nice.

And thank you Gotwoot for making me curious about the manga version - I find it unexpectedly awesome.

This needs it's own anime as Kraco said - Full Metal Panic Brotherhood! maybe ?

I saw a chart of the DVD sales of all anime titles produced by Kyoto Animation long ago. Unfortunately, The Second Raid ranked near the bottom. I'm not sure how accurate the chart is though.

The main story ended many moons ago. Fans didn't get any information regarding a new season until now.

Things certainly aren't going smoothly for Sousuke and Chidori. If it was anybody else but Sousuke I'd also wonder how much good getting shot by the love interest does to the relationship. But considering how much he has got hit by harisen and worse, I suppose for him it was nothing but a minor upgrade.

Aside from some of the whispered (and whispering) themselves, I don't really see what's so problematic about getting technology from the future. It seems more like Leonard's own bias that he sees it as such a problem, being a whispered himself. In that sense you can hardly blame him, but it makes a very poor tool for trying to convince others. Just as bad a tool as telling people the years they have lived are not real history, when they have nonetheless been the only history they know, and the hypothetical real history is forever lost to them and unimaginable. You have to be a little insane or stupid to see any worth in such talk.

Not really. Especially if the people he was trying to convince had a very bitter experience. We can have Kalinin as an example.

Minor nitpick here:
I wish they didn't omit the part where Tessa explained why the Lambda Driver will only work if it's installed in an Armslave.

It's true that bitter people could be convinced, but I conveniently count them as a little insane, because to wish for the whole world to be different for the sake of their own bad experiences is dubious. And once again: They would be no wiser even if things really were different. They only know what has already happened. Everything else is what-ifs.

Kalinin was a quite a cold fish to switch sides just because of that. But like they said in the aftermath of the traitor arc long ago, in the end they are all mercenaries.
