Kidou Shinsengumi Moeyo Ken TV

This is some new up and coming TV series which will be 13 episodes long. It seems to be the sequel of the 4-part OVA with the same name which came out 2003. I haven't seen either of them but seeing as Rumiko Takahashi (Ranma, Inuyasha, Mermaid's Forest) is involved it might be good.

Well the first ep just came out, I'm downloading it now... anyone else seen it?

now, that being said, Obviously, I'm gonna watch this one to completion, i hope that satan's daughter will come and eat everyone in the first episode, but somehow, i don't see it coming

Don't expect a deep plot or anything particularly new in terms of characters though.
But if all you want is some sexy fanservice/slapstick comedy in the usual Rumiko vein, you'll love this.

Good animation too and a neat soundtrack.
By the way, if you've seen Ranma 1/2, you gotta admit that it gave Ranma vibes when the cast were sitting in the dojo with an opened door behind them... that's like the most reoccuring Ranma setting.

I loved when that giant octopus rejected Kondou, Okita & Hijikata as "not pretty women" lol

well, i've got around to watch the three first episodes.. it's not as bad as the ova, but still the same annoying thing.

at least there wasn't any flamy magic swords or amazing transforming cars that shoot homing missles...

then again, they dumped the 30 second scenes that made the OVA worth half a bit...

I don't half a favorite charecter yet, I can hardly tell the diffrence between them (I can, I just don't care enough to make special notes of anyone)...
are you sure Rumiko was involved in this? the artwork does have some similarities with Inuyasha, but not to a degree that I would have noticed it had i not been looking for it...
and besides, any rumiko anime was much more fun than this one, it's like they took half of the possible cliches and just stuck them in, regardless of whatever.

As far as I can tell, Takahashi's involvement was just in character design (all she's listed as doing at animenfo.com) - or, rather, "original character design". I haven't seen the OVA but judging from the promo pics I can find for it, the OVA characters are much more in her style, and the TV characters rather just based off of Rumiko's design. Compare the cast as shown on the show's page (http://www.moeken.jp/index.html) to the cast as shown on the OVA's page (http://www.mmv.co.jp/products/flyer/moeyo_ken/), and you'll notice that once you take the smooth gradient out of the characters' hair they look much more like her standard style.

I've only seen two episodes and if it weren't for a few elements of funny scenes, I'd say it totally sucks... Now I am content with saying it sucks.
