Isn't their a Initial D(with real ppl) movie coming out ? My friend showed me some posters.

yes there is a live action initial D comming out

In hong kong it will be out in june 23. and it will star Jay chou as takumi
Anthony wong as bunta
edison as ryoskue takahashi
jordan chan as soudoku? kouichi (Lancer evo III)
shawn something as the Skyline driver

etc etc.

There is already a thread also about this.

I just saw the movie yesterday. Cool show, but the ending was a bit abrupt and might not go well with people who don't see the manga/anime. However the rest of the movie is pretty well done.

I'm not really into the anime, only saw stage 1, but from what I gathered from rest of my friends were that the music was a disappointment. The special effects in the movie were cool though and not overdone. Fans should definately watch it.

When you were watching Initial D (at the theatre) was there an English Subtitle with the movie? (Most Chinese movies has them) If there is, I wouldn't mind go looking for a torrent of it. =D

Yes it has both chinese and english subtitles.

Thanks for the help, Imma try to search for a torrent of it or better yet a DVD of the movie (Asia has tons of movies that released on DVD even if it's out at the Theatre =D )

Not being an Initial D anime watcher, I thought this movie was quite good.
But I think the actor for the main character could have been better @__@ My brother told me that it was his acting style though.

Well it is Jay Chou's movie debut after all. He's more known for his music though.

Thats not subbed in english though...some other weird language...and the quality aint that good..but still watchable.

I just downloaded the torretn above and it hasn't got subtitles, unless i'm doing something wrong with the move player i'm using?

if you've installed all those mentioned you should be able to play any file, if the subs still don't show there should be a green arrow appearing in your system tray try right clicking this there should be an option to enable the subs

I watched it on the cinemas yesterday( I live in australia btw), i have to say... this movie is best to be watched in the cinema... not infront of your monitor, its a totally different feeling I swear!!!!

Anyway... what i did notice was that they didnt put much effort into the number plates, it was fairly blurry to me, I guess the director didnt want to spend any more money on computer graphic effects.

I would of thought they would give us a cliffhanger and make us wait for the 2nd movie, but I reckon the ending was a bit... "hastily done".

Yeah forgot to tell everyone that when watching this you must play it with the SRT file (English Sub), but usually if you don't alter the folder in any way you should be able to open up the video and it'll automatically pick up with the english subtitle. It works fine for me, and the Qualtiy on this is GREAT!

I watchted the movie last night and was extremely disappointed with it. Missing characters and the cut up story line just ruined it for me. Also i really dident like the way they portrayed Bunta as being this Alchoholic child abusing father when in the manga you really dont see much about his life other than him standing outside the shop. I know the movie doesnt have the time to play out the entire story, but i think overall it could of been way better. 2 out of 5 stars. Atleast the drifting was nicely done.

I downloaded the torrent mentioned by SKY_SO_BLUE. The video quality is really good but the language is in Mandarin. Does anyone know if I can change the language to Cantonese or if I can get a different version with Cantonese audio? Thanks!

this movie sucked so bad it wasn't even funny i stopped after the battle with that fat guy who thought he was the bomb, omg bunta was portraid horribly, the fat guy was either supposed to be itsuki or a mix between itsuki and can't remember his name right now but the s13 guy, this movie was so freakin strange this is what you get when you let the chinese make a movie about it we all know Keiichi Tsuchiya was supposed to play Bunta cuz after all he's the best

Use Windows Media PLayer (with the codecs installed) and it should work fine for you.

I prefer COLE2k Codecs (there ARE better ones out there though)
Here's the link to download it:

Basically you download and install it (everything is already set, so try not to uncheck or check any boxes unless you know what you are doing)
After that playing the Initial D movie will automatically play the subtitle... otherwise look down on the bottom right corner to see if there's a green arrow , right mouse-click and turn on subtitle.

Hope this help you a bit.

It was a good movie, on private torrent sites there is a DVD-rip with subs but since its a private site no posting torrent links. You should all see it.
