View Full Version : Rey's Gundam

I am almost certain that Rey will be piloting a new gundam for the latter of the series. But i am unsure of whether it is the impulse of something else. We see the Destiny, Impulse and Providence standing in the background with Rey , lunamaria shinn and athrun in the closing clip. Does this somehow signal the return of the providence to be piloted by Rey. It wud seem likely as they have already revealed a father-son like relationship between rey and rau

Well we know for sure that Shinn gets Destiny and Athrun gets Infinite Justice. The popular theory (and most likely) is that Lunamaria gets Impulse and Rey would the the "Providence Mk. II".

Well I haven't seen ANY name for it officially. I don't know what it is, but that is why I put quotes around the name, to indicate it wasn't official.

Yeah does look bulky,

however as i have noticed in most mecha, they are just made from other designs. This one is a combination of the destiny, providence and saviour if u look closely at the design.

Also one thing i dont get, the DRAGOON in the providence was originally controlled by the mind, rite?? therefore u wud have to have newtype abilities like mwu, neo, rau or rey to control disconnected arms like that. Where did sting get the ability to do the same with his chaos??

problem is....look at freedom....it's fighting on earth...the time they spent in space is still zeppo in destiny
and since if you are in space....why do you need wings .....=.=|||
circular gas tanks are more effective and easier to refill
conclusion is....wings are not useful!!!

i must say...zeta's transform actually makes sense....it's air resistent is pretty low
but look back at wing 0.....it's taking way too much air resistent even under transformed mode
and i personally don't like transformations......it makes units weaker

From MAHQ:

DRAGOON (Disconnected Rapid Armament Group Overlook Operation Network)

With the DRAGOON system, 11 units are are stored on the Providence Gundam's massive backpack. These 11 units can be controlled wirelessly and attack an opponent from multiple directions.

Wireless control, computer controlled. Not "newtype" (I know SEED doesn't use the word, but it is the same idea). Also I believe on the Mobious Zero for Mwu they were acctually connected by wires (can't find evidence right now).

actually, having wings will be worse in space and better on earth. If a body is aerodynamic, it means u have to use less power output to move at thet same speed. And wings do make it more aerodynamic. I mean come on, thats common sense. Therefore , ure power is utilized much better if u need less of it to go faster!!!!!
However, in space it will go slower, becoz the extra weight will slow it down since acceleration is proportional to mass and the extra weight of the wings means it moves slower

While it may affect acceleration, I don't believe weight is acctually an issue for top speed in space.

While similar in concept to the wired gunbarrels used by the Moebius Zero, the DRAGOON units are controlled via wireless quantum communication, which is immune to the disruptive effects of N-Jammers. Using this system requires superhuman powers of spatial awareness, which are extremely rare among Naturals and Coordinators alike. (GundamOfficial Glossaries)

Its not that most didn't survive the process. From the flashbacks and stuff it seemed like they went psycho and they were killing eachother off. With the last three "Aeul, Stellar, and Sting" being the only ones to have survived. Meaning they probably killed the others.

Freedom has wings for use in it's HiMAT (High Mobility Aerial Tactics) mode. Maybe useless in space, but it's what allows him to perform in such a manner on earth. If he didn't have it, he'd be just as manuverable as calamity on the ground >_>

that's a false idea...
first...according to gundam's weight....they are only suppose to be able to jump...
no matter how powerful their thrusters are...
second...those wings only creat air resistent...which will actually make the unit unable to move fast in air...

so wings on gundams are useless apart from looking good and making the model sell at higher price

Well a form of the DRAGOON system is in action with the Destroy. It may not be DRAGOON itself, but it the same thing. Also Chaos does have an improved version of the DRAGOON system, though he hasn't used it much recently.

while you say improved. Its somewhat lacking in firepower compared to what a newtype is capable of using. I mean look at Mwu/Neo Mobile armors and then Rau with Providence. Alot more remotes. They just have a greater spatial awareness. And the system that Stellar is using in the Destroy. The Destroy actually stops moving while she uses the arms in their fly by. Its so massive luckily it can take the ground assault but thats a big weakness. Although the mobile fortress bit definately fits it.

I'm hoping for some nice battles coming up after Rey gets Legend. Its produced after Destiny and both of them are produced after the Infinite Justice and Strike Freedom if model numbers mean anything. However I suspect that those two units aren't from the ZAFT but are from the Clyne faction. We'll have to wait and see since the chairman seems to be keeping up with the weird jumping of model numbers.

Does Destroy acctually HAVE to stop when it lets it's arms loose? Or did it just happen too?

Some of the model number thing is because some units were produced (Destiny, Strike Freedom) before the Junius 7 treaty. As part of that treaty the use of Nuetron Jammer Cancellor's was banned so they couldn't put nuclear powered units into the field at the time. Obviously Dullindal will come up with some excuse soon.

Just thought i'd say that the model numbers don't nessecarily state which is produced before or after another.

Impulse - ZGMF-X56S; ???
Savior - ZGMF-X23S; the 2 indicated it's dual modes, Gundam and Armour while the 3 is it's development code
Chaos - ZGMF-X24S; ???
Abyss - ZGMF-X31S; ???
Gaia - ZGMF-X88S; the first 8 indicates its ability to transform into a 4-legged MA.

All are supposedly produced at the same time, but barely share anything in common with their production numbers. The only real similarities are the X ans S, and we can assume that the X comes from the M5 production type 'Gundam' and the S... who the hell knows? Special?

In general the "X" mean "experimental model". For example, the X was used with the first 5 Gundams in SEED, but when they got to the Mass Produced models (the Dagger variations) they dropped the X.

i am really getting annoyed for this...but i still wanna say it again...
those 5 units in the first of the shows are called "G"s not "Gundam"..only Kira calls it "Gundam" cuz of it's OS system

Whether the are called Gundam's on the show or not is not the point. They are called Gundam's EVERYWHERE else. Also (just because I know this will annoy you) other do use the term Gundam in the US dub.

Might want to add a spoiler warning on that message. Some people would consider it spoiler while others won't. Better safe then sorry.

i don't really caree about the dubs, i discriminate the dubs.
i would say it's an insult to the anime itself. especially the CVs are always not the best voice for the charactor.
unlike japan, the US doesn't especially hire CVs for the charactor.....often happen 1 person acting few chatactor's voice..i really dislike that

@ PTX
Maybe the original voice's and stuff aren't good too, who knows ?
it's because you got used to the japanese version of it....
Mayabe if you first heard the english version and then heard the japanese version you would say screw it...I don't think you can better dub it then it is done now...
I've seen the first dubbed ep of gS and it isn't just that bad like in other series

i watched the japanese series.....and i really can't find a way that the english dubs will be better...
in japanese animation, they especially hair people for the voices...not just random people they can find in their broadcast station...the japanese take the voices seriously...unlike the english dubs....
