What is a RMVB format???

I've heard that these videos encoded in these are top notch but will windows media or divx player run them??? Just need to know before i start downloading. Plz help.

The short answer is: it's Real's current-generation format.

Windows Media Player probably won't. Divx player definitely won't. I don't recommend realplayer either, but it'll work if you HAVE to go there.

I understand that "Real Alternative" (hint: google string) does a damned fine job playing rmbv on windows, but that's pure hearsay. Of course, linux has the Helix Player project.
