mIRC download cap

I am having no luck going over download speeds of 25kb/s in mIRC. My ISP can handle higher downloads, but I do not understand why mIRC works slower. Anyone have any tips or info on this?

I think its probably the person your downloading from. Their caps might only be set to 25 kb/s or whatever speed your getting. Is this happening with just one person or alot of people? If its one person, then what I said before is most likely true. But if it happens with alot of people, it may be my reasoning or it could be something on your end.

Actually, I forgot to say its trouble with aone's archive bot. I can't get over it's 29 kb/s minimum speed

could be the bot being overloaded.
could be bad routes.

try other bots, see how they do. It might just be that you can't get a good connection to that particular bot.

Guess that would explain it. It is several days that i couldn't access that bot. Too bad for me

That usually happens to me on the archive bot, sometimes I get lucky and can download 150k, but sometimes I get like 20k and then it kicks me off the bot.
