This might sounds crazy but I HATE it when naruto finishes his sentences with "dattebayo". It sounds ok in comical moments but when things get serious I just can't stand naruto's "dattebayo". It sounds like something a faggot will say after he done eating... Hopefully he will stop saying it after he grows up.

I think Naruto is just annoying to watch.

EDIT: The character, not the show.

Hehe. Yes. What does it mean.... I know its a fansub group name but I have no clue what it means still. Is it just something you can't translate?

dattebayo means the samething as "desu", "da" or the other fifteen million ways they japanese have to say "is" so if i said something like "kore wa orokana TOPIKKU dattebayo." it would be the same as saying "kore wa orokanaTOPIKKU da" which by the way means "this is a stupid topic." which expresses my true feelings for this topic

I write the word in huge bold caps and put it as my background. Then I beat off to it.

I have a friend that doesn't know the meaning of an ugly asian girl.

To answer somewhat more directly, it's used to emphesize a sentence to make it more profane or exclamitory- as if you ended every sentence with " damn you!", but not quite as harsh. It's generaly looked upon as a rude and imature, and somewhat "red neck" way to express yourself.

I don't mind it. It adds character to naruto, not your typical wishy washy anime hero type of speach.

After seeing every Ep of naruto at least 3 times you just stop hearing things.

maybe the phrase is made that way...

simulated conversation:

Naruto: So the answer is C...
Kakashi: Naruto, you're wrong again...
Naruto: But I just think this is right... DATTEBAYO!
Kakashi: (fuck this kid he's so annoying) alright whatever...
