Does anyone know anything about this thing called Viewpoint Media Player? A popup just suddenly showed up on my desktop saying that Viewpoint Media Player had updated itself, and I have never even heard of the thing, let alone download it!

What is it?

And, preempting any info I may receive... how do I get rid of it?

Its crap that installed itself. Ad-aware is what you need.

It's not spyware. Some DVDs install it automatically.

You know when you put in a DVD and shit loads up right away?

That's how it got onto your comp, just uninstall it from add/remove programs.
