In the latest episodes you can see Naruto and Sasuke fighting, arguing and even thinking. This is all happens arround two statues. http://home.tiscali.nl/blashin/Naruto/Two%20Statues.jpg

One of the statues I do recognise, it's the First Hokage! http://home.tiscali.nl/blashin/Naruto/First%20Hokage%20Statue.jpg

The other I dont recognise, but I think it's the First Kazekage, I think that because Sasuke is heading to the Hidden Village of Sound, and like the Hidden Village of the Sand, they are in the Country of the Kaze (Wind)? (correct me if im wrong I remember something like that from a episode, I'm not sure) Ooh yea and I think the first Kazekage is from the same generation as the first Hokage, but i dont know that.

What do you guys think or know?

I remember it saying something about the statues: like the 1st and the person were good friends, but then the guy Sasuke was standing on wanted to leave or something like that so the 1st and him fought and that waterfall was made from the two fighting, didnt really say who won though(just had to put that in, since it also said the two were similar to Naruto and Sasuke i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif )

correct me if I have any of that wrong

@Assertn: oh really? T_T oh well then I guess what ever I just wrote is wrong, other then the 1st Hokage reference

no knives, i think you are trying to recall something that was only referenced manga so far, but doing a lousy job of it i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif
the one on the right is definitely the 1st hokage, but if you look at a map of the naruto world, the sand village and sound village are on opposite sides of konoha, therefore that can't be the wind country's border

Ooh yea Kaze is wind i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif not ice silly me i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif.
I took a screenie of the map, from ep.5

Can you tell me where the village of sound is, it's a new village right?
Cus i forgot where it lies.

sound village is northeast of konoha....
if you check somewhere in the 20s where kabuto explains the villages that are participating in the exam, you'll see where it is

The village of sound is in the 3rd country to the east of the Country of Earth.
(the first to the east holds the Waterfall village, the one southwest of there has the Grass village, and the one between the 3 big countries has the Rain village)

(taken from episode 23, time 09:53)

i dunno, it looks kinda like the 2nd hokage to me......it would make sense as the 1st and 2nd were the ones who created konoha

i thought taht the statues looked like 1st and 2nd but why would they be fighting?

The other statue shouldn't be the 2nd, unless he got a haircut before he died. Anime characters tend to keep their hairstyle stable unless there's some dramatic change (ie. Sakura, Ino).

I think they are the 1st and 2nd hokages and I don't think that they are supposed to be fighting. Just because they are facing each other does not mean they are fighting. Also, it is never said that Naruto and Sasuke are fighting at Konoha's border, this could simply be a monument to the 1st and 2nd just like the mountain with the heads of the hokages.

Everything Japs do is symbolic, therefor the statues, or once people, have to have been fighting ..no point in letting them fight over there if it has no meaning.

Or it could be symbolic the opposite way: the two statues are of people who were allies/friends, since Sasuke and Naruto were friends but are fighting now.... or something....

Or... they could be there because it looks cool. Maybe that's how ninjas flick each other off. i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif

The second hokage's hair is not NEARLY as long as the statue's is. Besides, he would probably have that funky forehead protector on if he was

The argument about the two statue facing each other is a monument is wrong.
1. They already have monuments in the village.
2. The guy facing the first Hokage doesnt look like anyone from Konoha. The closest resemblence would be Jiraya.
3. If it is a monument why the hell would it be located way out at the "border", if you dont agree that this is a border, remember the Leaf genins have been chasing and fightign sound ninjas for 20 episodes now. As slow as you think they move, dont you think they should be close to the border by now if not right at the border. I make sense because that is the last place possible for Naruto to stop Sasuke before he enter sound country and out of reach.
The two statue is there for a reason, it might reflect the confict that Konoha ancestor has that is mirrored on Naruto and Sasuke. Much like Jiraya and Orochimaru.
4. Their hands looks like they are performing a seal, or holding a seal. If you say that is a hand gesture of say "hi", you havent been watching Naruto.

lol Kaigan...using the word "Japs" is not being racist...its just being lazy. Or he might just not know how to spell Japanese, and wants to at least look competent in this forum which is obviously overflowing with intellectual people&the fact that you pointed that out means youre either fighting racist feelings yourself, or are way too nosy for your own good&if you are Japanese, and this word offends you&take a long, hard look at the poster, and ask yourself: Why do I care?

to the topic: I really have no idea who that second guy is...he kind of reminds me of Kimimaro...but that doesnt make much sense does it? Its cool, im sure, whatever it means...I love Japanese symbolism, even if its over my head =^_^=

hey it could be the 1st and the 1st "kage" of the thunder because some1 said the sound village was northeast...

i wonder if it actually has any relevance to the story at all. like the story behind those facing statues is similar to the story of naruto and sasuke as rival friends

Well they are both molding chakra and they are gripping the hilts of their sword. They look ready to fight imo.

I really advice you to check the dictionary on the word racist. I dont get angry very fast, but telling me I'm a racist really pisses me off. People like that should be hung and burned.

Racist implies Ive got problems being with and around people with a different color or skin than I have and relates in NO way to my assumption and believe that Japanese people are in fact STRANGE. This does however NOT imply I dislike Japanese because of what they are and what they look like. You should be ashamed of yourself.

actually racism isnt purely related to skin colour or looks. me saying the english are all cocksuckers, would still be racist. even tho im scottish

well then I guess it doesn't matter that this english guy thinks. lol
Wait...if sasuke is heading for the sound villiage then why would there be a border? Sound hasn't existed long enough for something that special...
I thought it was the border between Wind and Fire, but that was just an assumption I made when I first saw it. I think it mighta been teh river that made me think that though.

They are definitely ready to fight, and that long haired guy is definitely not the 2nd. Though the other guy is the 1st.
